Pool Noodle

I saw a YouTube video today where a guy took a 3'x4' board, drilled holes in the corners, used ropes attached to the holes to hang it from the door of his prius. He used a pool noodle along the door side edge to prevent scratching the paint.

Got another one. My Astro has a center catch for the rear doors, and it occupies a space that my noggin seems to want to co-occupy regularly as I work on the build-out. To guard my limited supply of brain cells, I've made a cover for the offending evil steel bit out of split pool noodle and some self-adhesive velcro dots. It's bright orange so I notice it, and it's easy to un-schnik and stow when I close the doors.

I'm increasingly self-conscious of head gouges and bruises as the years pass and my forehead appropriates real-estate. Alternately, I could make a pool-noodle helmet.

Cut to length and slice lengthwise and slip over windshield wiper blades while parked. The AZ sun really bakes anything rubber and this extends the life of the blades.

When I had an antique store I used to cushion the edges of furniture for shipping with cheap ones from the dollar store.

The ones from the dollar store are so cheap, you can cut them to protect just about anything while traveling down bumpy roads!

Found another use last night while sleeping in a Pilot parking lot in my Prius. The Prius has a long thin rear window below the spoiler, and my current reflectix press-fit doesn't stay up (gotta add a bit to it, or use plastic cards to hold it in place). Quick fix with the pool noodle to bend it across the back and hold that shade in place. Good thing too, that window was facing the sunrise, and I didn't get to bed till past midnight!

I kept hitting my head or back on the top of the van bulkhead door opening. There's no door. I slipped a piece of pipe insulation on the edge and used some bolt holes to zip tie the insulation in place.

Also, if you have to park on the street with the passenger side tires in the gutter, and your bed runs lenghtwise, you can slip a couple of pool noodles under the edge of the mattress to help keep you from sliding off.

Made a armrest the other day out of pool noodle, prolly pissed off the kids but i bought the damn thing anyway,,lol
The Honda came with a right armrest but the left door rest was way too low,,fixed it, now im level going down the road.
And the left over, i crammed between the tray and passenger seat so it will quit rattling,,lol
