I will be heading to Pahrump the last Wednesday or Thursday of Sept. Many of the people I have been camping with this summer will also be there. One of them is volunteering for the BYOV event and another is getting work done by the BYOV. Of course as I camped with the 1st HOWA caravans there last fall I will be reconnecting with more people I met from that event.

Went to doc yesterday to get fitted for a hook... only got a cast. Should it work I’ll be getting a wrist fused... Monday I’ll go to the vision center for my patch. I never get what I go for. Oh well...

what size fuse do you think will be needed? with all the work load you tend to put on it you might need at least a 100amp.

I have landed... it was a long drive from the North Rim to P, but the worst of it was, or course Vegas... ick poo.. ;) It is quite an engine, that town... it was about 10 hours door to door with too many stops, but one must.
.. :D

Pulled in to where the Red Camp was in April, looked NW across the wash, and what do I see, but the Pirate Camp Flag... so I Chilli and I wander over... and the damn people fed me diner.

While food was supplied, if you want to have work done through Pirate camp, you have to bring the materials, and Doug will don his cape and go to work... lol He might even have little elves helping, or getting in the way.

(bumpity bumpity)

I will likely be there by Oct 1st. I was at the 1st Red Caravan last year. But might camp closer to Bison depending on the dirt road conditions heading to that Red camp site. When they plow that road tit can create some high gravel berms that are difficult for small cars to get over. Of course I do travel with a shovel but that tends to be in the classification of hard labor.

Bison? E Basin Ave. is closer to where the Red Caravan was parked off Justin Lane in April.

There is a Bison Street in Pahrump, but it's a residential area west of NV-160.

Just a senior memory typo…being in my 70s I have the universe’s permission to make at least one a day.🤫

All's quiet on the Pirate front........Fed the Friends/Crew BBQ chicken last nite........RVnaut showed up for dinner

Time to setup shop and haul out the tools...........Clean 'em & Tune-Up.....

Weather's nice now.....Blue sky clean air.... Warmer later this week ?

CHECK Thrift stores and Pawn shop on next weeks ToDo list .........& French Bakery (re: MAKI)

Blue Clean Sky, I like that! Yesterday was 90 here (MT) today 55...brrr. It'll warm up again in a couple days, but i'm about ready to head south for winter...first time ever!

Bump this for some FaceBook nomads........................WELCOME

Well it got Warmer.......No HOTTER !..........looks like a couple days of 98*

We're just North of Basin............the road looks rough but passable....see ya here..................

Last year it was a lot colder at night here in the Grand Canyon but pretty much perfect daytime temperature when I got to Pahrump on October 10.

It has been quite a bit of difference in weather. Flagstaff area had 200% more rain the monsoon season versus 2021, and it never got over 90 degrees!

At least I do not have to be in Pahrump for my BYOV volunteer build task until
October 16. But I would be heading there this coming week except for those high 90s temperatures. I really enjoyed the conveniences of camping just outside the city limits of Pahrump a town with Walmart, Home Deopt, some dollar stores and a good post office. Even a Goodwill and Big 5 sporting goods. The Big 5 stocks cans of butane stove fuel which was good as last fall Walmart did not have any.

I have been boondocking miles from any town since about Memorial Day, and I will put up with the heat for a few days, because it is SO nice to have store right down the hill after months of being out there... :)

For anyone headed here that needs Dump/Water in qty, Preferred RV Park charges $10 for both, up to 10 pm.. guard gate, wave the $10 and yer in...

Not sure where I will be camping as the location of the camping area for volunteers for the BYOV has not yet been sent out by HOWA. But of course I am free to camp elsewhere should I wish to. I am only assigned for 3 days of work which is fine with me. I have my own build to finish but at this point not any overwhelming task are left on it.

I have retreated to the inside of the big can and have been running the AC..... the sun shade gear will arrive monday...

I see that Doug has once again been a good influence on the shade cloth market place.

While I do not need to deploy his shade cloth for shade this week I might set it up for a bit of a drying rack device. Good time to take advantage of a low dust site.
