Hello folks, We finally purchased our RV and are set to hit the road, April 1st. In the mean time, I need some help! We like in an HOA neighborhood ( hate it!) we can't park our Rv here, so we have to store it until we go. My problem, question, does anyone have any idea where we can work on our RV before we leave? Where we are parking their insurance doesn't cover us working on it there, and it can't be at our place. Nothing messy, we want to put on solar and put in a compost toilet. I've looked at possible home owners renting out land but there is nothing near me, can't afford the rent on our place and an rv park until we go, and I'm unsure if you can do that sort of thing in a park anyway. Any suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks.

Tim. Might want to post your location.

Your HOA doesn’t allow parking your RV there for any length of time, not even just before and just after a trip?

That’s a bit restrictive, it seems to me.

I’d look into getting that changed so you have a little flexibility.

If you are unable to find someplace near you, might consider when you leave heading to a campground for a couple of nights, and do your work there.

Good luck!

Yes, post the location, maybe someone will have suggestions.

Generally speaking, if you know of any industrial areas where there are large welding and machine shops, semi truck-trailer repair facilities, metal recycling yards, etc...any place with a LOT of land in a commercial or industrial area and hopefully a fence around it, where you might approach the owner or manager and ask if you could possibly rent a very small corner of that space for 2 or 3 weeks and pay some minimal amount to be there.

You never know unless you ask.

He's in Largo FL in case you don't see his reply above in the quoted post.

"He's in Largo FL"

that explains it. if they were out west this would be a non-issue.

If you do your work with battery tools in the Home Depot parking lot, you will be much closer to the parts store for every thing you will need.

Rigs do get worked on at RV parks in AZ, in fact they like to see maintenance being done.

RV storage lot, parking lot, bring it home during the day and then take it back, church parking lot, I could find a hundred places in my town for a few hours at the time.

Take it home to your HOA location and just go ahead and work on it in your driveway. They might end up telling you to move it, but I can't see a problem for a few hours.
