Its been a good ride, except for not being as fuel efficient as one would like.  Very dependable so far.
Thanks for your comments.  Stay tuned for more of Black Hills and more.

It has the GM 350 cubic inch V8 with throttle body injection.  Metric would be 5.7 liters.  best guess is Mountains
13-14  mph and lowlands 14-16 at 55-60 mph.  Guess it loses mileage having old tech 4x4 system.
But all in all its one Tough Truck

Thanks for note.

Love the Scamp travel trailer. Actually, that's my dream rig. I can pull 3500 lbs. with my 2012 Kia Sedona. Plenty for a nice Scamp. But they are so hard to find. More are on the West Coast as they are made out West. Hard to find them here in the East. I keep looking though.

Cool! I have been wondering about a cot instead of a wood build. Do you like it better?

I have 2 cots one is a Coleman camp cot, which comes with a sleeping pad, reasonable price.  I find it comfortable as it has springs and
allows your body to seek comfortable position unlike a rigid wood platform.

The second cot was a old roll a way from the early 1990's found in a storage building on ranch.  It too has spring suspension,  I made a
sleeping pad for it and got good sleeping comfort.

I like both, they are light and allow easy storage underneath themselves

Hope this helps, Frank

Thank you so much for the information. It helps a lot. I was looking at the same thing. A cot with springs. I will have to try that!

The Coleman comes with a pad, at least mine did!  Check it out!  I always sleep with a sleep bag and that adds extra padding.
In summer I just use the sleeping bag as extra padding and just use a folded blanket if cool..  Good luck and enjoy our beaut-
ful country.  No place better on this green earth!

Enjoyed reading and seeing your surburban details, yes gasoline is getting costly so should be some good deals on big old dependable gas gusslers!
