I've already got them installed, so it's a gunna be what it's a gunna be. If they fail, I'll pull them up and install carpet or those interlocking rubber mats or something. I sort a thought it might be an issue when I put them in and chose to risk the 15-20 bucks those tiles cost. I'll let y'all know how it turns out. Maybe I'll get lucky and then go buy a lotto ticket somewhere. :D

Yep....and hey you never know, they might work out well...

I really admire you for putting all this stuff out there....it takes guts I think to display all your efforts, whether they be successful or not.

You have a really good track record so far!

Thanks for that link AG, but also, they recommend tiles no bigger than 3x3:

Thanks for adding to description. I dint make it past kindagertan; numbers & directions are beyond me. Quadratic equations nearly gave me a strike, um, stroke of good luck. 3x3 vs 6x6 is hard, I kin face it, I can't do it, but Calculus was easy.

NoMad,
3 photos on how I did a shelf unit. Hope it could give you, or someone else a few ideas. It is not drawn to scale, merely for showing fairly accurate dimensions ad nauseum @ 1/16" woodworking cut tolerance. The whole view of system has an error on Laptop area, it s/b 5" (not 12"), reflects change on secondary photo.

The 2 cabinets 4 doors are each locked & metal reinforced backer plates. I used cherry wood from son's ~40 yr old crib slats. The small "hanging" shelf lower far right has a locking lift up door on piano hinges, holds that meant for my eyes only. I used bins that go into a 36" wide ~14" deep industrial shelving unit that rolls around.

I found good Q used bins at a business inventory sale. $2 a bin. I bought 16, used 8 and 8 leftover used elsewhere. If you want to, check to see if there are any bus inv sales in or near your area, saves you a few $. You'd be amazed at what they sell.

I'm like you, I like to hand draw & think on paper. I learned it all in kindagertan. It is funner and gives my musical hands good movement, not static like when using a mouse for an hour or more which can make my hands/fingers stiffen up. Hand drawing also gives my old brain better exercise for my spatial senses.

I am not courageous, merely too stupid to know any better!  LOL! :)
Seriously, thanks for the kudos ...

YW. Tried to share via PM. Unable. A 6" foam 39" wide twin mattress is ~20 lbs.

New video up in about an hour.  It's still uploading, so wait a bit before viewing it.  I just wanted to get a link up so I could move on to other stuff ...
Stuff about building Pod One, and a "hello" to my friends in Colorado.

A little over 14 minutes long.

Or, watch these while you're waiting:  :)

... all about 10 minutes in length

You're not going to have much troubles with an entry way only of tile. I wouldn't worry at all.
Good thinking! Now, get moving along, get some more done. Little by little!

Let's Get 'er Done NOW Grrr-uuunnts!
(military sayin, also layin pig iron in rural mountainous areas - BARSTOW's mountain Power Towers!)

Oops, sorry if I got carried away here & there with personal polysyndeton issues. It's a disease it is hard to breakaway from it when you got it you can't get rid of it it is an addiction much better than drugs no one can't let go especially me maybe a few others here on CRVL had or still has that disease too and don't know it maybe they do but don't know what it is called yet.

Great vid! Your dad's style of old Robert Frost style of garden paths & several landings between steps is just like I'd pictured he'd built it up. That pre-modernist style accentuated the real beauty of lands, esp with hillsides like his. He did very lovely works and kept the picturesque Nature of the land & its trees intact! Tell him I loved seeing how he did it all & he looks purt healthy & spry for 83! Maybe take dad shool pootin' & on a overnight in his RV before he sells it!

NoMad,
Yankee Whiskey! I wasn't sure if you already knew of those. They come in several weight capacities, the 220 lb I believe comes in a 4 or 5 pack and is at a reasonable cost. The link I gave is 700 lbs class. I don't think you need more than the 220. IDK if you can find them locally. Ordering from mfg is typically wholesale, but we're the plebs, we have to order retail. The link...

Last night, I couldn't sleep, I gots da itchy wheels from mild cabin fever & mind too busy planning upgrades. Too much sit down time, creating & ordering items that'l take forever to deliver; also finishing up my 3 ancient books on gigueres. So I went out to van & turned on low heat & mattress pad, half hour later climbed into a warm bed and fell asleep within 5 mins after transporting to scheherazade. It was surreal & good. I'm gunna go on a week long, am between projects & will be waiting on deliveries.

BaaAzzhhhhhhwaaawoah-haha!

Yah, I came across them some years back ... I forget where.  I think I'm going to opt for slide bolts instead, though.  The cam locks latches would need to be in a place where I don't have a lot of structural support.  The slide bolts will fit over the vertical framework posts nicely.  I'll put that all in a video when I get there.  Thanks for all the tips ... very much appreciated!  :)

Very likely is a wise choice in choosing slides for your 6x12. Good on you for being + I'm looking forward to seeing your new vids. Yesterdays wasn't fully uploaded when I tried but I watched it later. I like seeing your great progress. Stay busy YesHappy!
