Here's a video of dudes killing a Brown Bear with a 9mm Makarov. This round has more kick than a 9mm Luger, but damn, the bear went down in like 5-8 shots.

The 9mm Mak has less power than a standard 9mm Luger. The 9mm Makarov falls somewhere between a .380 and a 9mm Luger in power. It is a standard round used by many LE in Eastern block countries.
