I have been just using an old tuperware bowl for a long time.
I put a paper towel over the top and that arrests the trajectories of jumpy kernels.
I just tried this and it worked fine.
Tried it again, this time with a plate instead of a paper towel, and that worked fine too.
Who knew it could be this simple?
Thanks, Calaverasgrande!

Also, Whole Foods sells bulk popcorn in the bulk section. Might be cheaper. Think it was $2.49 lb last time I checked.

For years I popped microwave popcorn in a flour bag. For a change try briefly microwaving a garlic clove in some neutral olive oil instead of butter. I like red salt, which is some red pepper ground with (lite) salt.

Has anyone tried some different toppings/flavors we used to do some peanut butter and honey with a few raisins for the kidos at one of the centers I worked at. They liked it but me...not so much We mixed the honey and peanut butter and heated it up so it could be drizzled over the popcorn. And son #1used to like to add a bit of chilli to his Son # 2 liked caramel stuff.
