A couple days ago I noticed a package of my saltine crackers was chewed open. Then this morning I found some droppings. I'm not sure if they are still in here. I sit in my truck alot during the day with the computer and reading, and I don't hear any rusling around. So I don't know if they are still in here. If they are, they gotta go. Only thing I can think is they got in while I was in the woods and had my door open. I hate mice.

I keep thinking, what if he jumps on my shouder while Im doin 60 down the freeway. That will be the end of all of us.

I've been thinking about getting a pet, but this isn't what I had in mind.

I thought about offering them 20 bucks to leave, but they'd probably just eat it and want more.

Rodents can find the smallest areas to get in... I've had issues with them a few times, and sadly, the only option I have found that works for me are traps baited with peanut butter, the smell brings them to the trap and ends the conflict.. for a time, I considered live traps, but then what? if you let them go, they will come back.

This weekend when I go up to the woods, I am gonna empty my truck and try to get rid of them if they are still here.
I have a pickup with camper. They are in the cab, but not the camper.

I did that... totally emptied my box truck, took plastic sheeting and wrapped everything that contained food, took me hours.. they were back that night.

in my case, they left the truck with the dawn, but would come back the next sunset.

One advantage I have is I only go to the woods on weekends. Then im in town during the week. If I can get rid of them and Im moving alot maybe that will work.

Dude.... Time to get a cat! Great companions....eat anything that moves....very user friendly LOL. Have fun and be safe on your trek..........

Maybe borrow a cat. I know Cherry Wanders has 6...she may lend you one. Ask for Dandy! Joking aside you need to at least drop them off and go at least 2 miles away. You can'gt just get them out and go down the block. I like live traps and dumping 3 miles in the woods.

This is something I've read about happening on another forum. And a good idea for a new topic ... Critter hitchhiking prevention!

No offense to anyone, but I don't like cats and they don't like me. Last time I was around a cat it peed on my shoe. I had to throw them away because I couldn't get rid of the smell.

Sid you might try something like this ... http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-Direct-Indoor-Repellers/dp/B000SPAMA0. I've been using these for years and can attest to their working. They even kept a neighbors mouse infestation at bay. I didn't look to see if they have a mobile version, but think these can be modded to run off of 12v if there aren't any.

I'm moving out of my place soon and would give you one to alter if you were close by even.

Thanks for the link. I will see how bad it is and go from there. I don't here any activity. If they are still in my truck, I think its probably just one or two.

Usually its 2 unless its a family. Yeah I noticed that at my place. Each year 2 would show up. They weren't really wild mice either. They were pretty with white and glossy gray. The 1st year glossy black and white. Nature doesn't make those color wild mice. Def. not the gloss they would stick out to much!!
I can vouch for THAT! Peanut butter! Best rodent bait on the planet!
As much as I like it myself, it would even work on me if I was hungry... (squeak squeak)

Oh I forgot about dryer sheets! My landlady uses them in her trailer home. She said since she started using them...no mice.

LOL, been there Sidney. Nothing like a 2AM wakeup to the sound of scampering little feet and a "chewing" sound. All Van/Car/RV dwellers need to have a couple of mouse traps and jar of peanut butter on hand to lose 4 footed roommates.

Not me!! I would have a hard time "collecting"

50 cents buys a mouse trap that works many times... Lemme tell ya there are so many mice in a square mile of forest that missing a few wont matter... Hell they get decimated every night by all kinds of predictors and still are around... Just kill em and problem solved...

remember SHE has some pet Rats, great little furry friends. So the nasty little mice remind her too much of the much smarter and better friends.
