I have heard of various ways to cook bread type stuff in lots of appliances, including electric frying pan, crock pot, toaster oven and yes even the microwave. It depends on what I'm cooking. I can cook up a pretty good cobbler in a mug and a pretty good chicken pot pie in a small glass bowl and cornbread covered bowl of tamale pie in the same bowl (not at the same time of course), really good brownies in mugs for under ice cream, etc. But real bread and crispy browned biscuits need an oven in my humble opinion. I will need to keep working on baking cookies etc....
I have seen those you tube videos about foil covered box ovens that I am diein' to try, but my poor ol' van is so full now. Maybe if I practice something this winter here at my stick and brick place I will find space..
