Now that is my idea of a good layout :). I could not image even wanting to have a build without good desk/workbench space and a comfortable chair for sitting down at that area. You have also made it very attractive looking.  One of the better interiors I have seen on this forum.
thanks i'm not a carpenter by any means but i bought 2 sheets of $45 3/4 premium plywood  and started so i basically have about $100 in the the desk/microwave and kitchen furniture i even kinda impressed myself lol

Very nice, jimmy. I missed your thread the first time around. The extended van surely has a lot more interior space than my regular length GMC Savana. Beautiful layout, just like mine (LOL) except I went more minimalist, and you have a nice window over your desk. I have a nice wall there. I think you'll like the pickup of the 4.8L on the highway too. Good work.

I really like the simplicity of your floor design that leaves ample floor space. How wide/long/thick is your bed, and how much clearance underneath if you don't mind me asking....well done.

Bed is 68x39x8(8 inch memory foam matress with cooling pad) I have about 12.75 under bed I can just fit a 12 gallon tote (if I remember tomorrow I'll post a pic from back under bed) for me I decide that being able to sit up in bed without hitting your head was very important so that is the reason for the beds that height
Let me know if you have any other questions.

So the Maxxair fan is for blowing air in? and doubles as a vent?

How do you heat it, going to Alaska and all?

No solar panels?

Where is your battery setup?

I'm just getting started on a lot of these concepts

The maxxair will blow either way in or out
Right now the only heat I have is from the single burner stove I probably add another heat source before Alaska
I have 400 watts of solar panels and 2 battle born lithium batteries

I love it. Nice work. It appears so spacious, light and cozy. And the wood is beautiful. Thumbs up:D

"Right now the only heat I have is from the single burner stove "
The only heat you get is when you are cooking, right?

I totally agree with being able to sit up in bed.  My problem is I am 5'11" tall, so 68" would force me into a prone position. I would have to have about 76" to be able to stretch out my toes, and not hit my head.

I'm 5 10 I sleep on angle and find it's enough I also sleep on my side with my legs slight bent but I can lay on angle on my back without my head or feet touching just some fyi

Well I will run it to just heat the van up before bed and never sleep with it running but if you ever had experience doing this I would say you should buy a little buddy is probably a better safer deal

jimmy, I was looking back at post #10. How exactly did you insulate the walls, and what is the soft covering on the walls?
