Hello hopeful future friends.

Life and circumstance has brought me to the point of choosing a life I've been dreaming about for a long time. Ending a recent relationship and the inability to keep my apartment on a single salary has made me decide to move into a van full-time. I just got a 2002 E-150 from a foreign exchange student who drove it across the country over the past 8 months. I'm doing basic repairs right now but my plan is to keep the headliner interior, mount coverings over them, and keep working my gig in Seattle while living in it.

Maybe someday once i get a nest egg saved up I might take her on the road but for now it's going to be a local thing.

Anyway, that's my story. I will be probably asking a lot of questions while I go so thanks in advance for all your help.

Here's my cool van.

Congratulations for jumping in and for already having a vehicle!! That was the hardest part for me!

Congrats on the van. Once you don't have rent and utilities hanging over your head, your nest egg should be able to grow faster. :)

Welcome aboard !
It's a fine looking hunk a tin !
Ask away with those questions and happy build out.

Welcome and congrats!
I am planning for a local thing, too. But still have a lot to do...
Folks here are very helpful and knowledgeable!

Welcome dualhammers to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you. highdesertranger

You can do this. Since you had the courage to find and buy such a nice rig, shows me, you were on the waggontrains heading west. Happy trails.

Welcome!  Read as much of the sub-forums on any specific topic that you feel you want information on. There's literally hundreds of threads you can choose from, many of which will teach you a lot without having to ask a single question.

Every time I wonder about something van related I google it or use the search bar for this forum.  Sometimes it seems the search engine is very picky, (it tells me no results and has a 20 second refresh rate) so I resort to simply perusing the sub-forum threads and usually get what I needed to know.

I also try to thank the poster that I got good knowledge from. (Amazes me that some long-time posters have 0 thanks given...)

Hopefully the forum can keep you from making expensive mistakes!

That is a nice looking van with lots of potential. Good luck getting that nest egg.
