<p>1991 Chevy Sportsvan, propane and electric hookups and 15 gal water tank. 153k miles. Seller asking $4000. Kelly lists 1992 Sportsvan at about $1600 tops private party. I figure with the high top and propane maybe offer $2500-$3000. This would be my first venture into van living to get a feel for it without major investment which I am willing to do later. My mechanic said about $100-150 to check out a vehicle, at the shop, about 20-25 minute drive from this van. I left email to seller but no response yet.

<br />Well it does sound confusing, but logical.&nbsp;The laser thing may be a bit&nbsp;too much for me.&nbsp;Is it easy to tell if it has 2 or 4 main block, or can I tell with a carfax report or any other way? $4000 for a 91 VAN with 153kmi is rediculous. On the other hand, $4K for a ( supposedly) well maintained ,self contained class B with modifications and improvements is well within what i see them selling for in the Chattanooga, Tn area for on the streets and on craigslist. IF, indeed, all the miles are highway miles, then the camper systems should be in good working order from little or sporadic use. I have bought , owned, driven and sold more than 40 vehicles, and helped out at several garages, plus do most of my own maint and repairs, so i seldom go to a mechanic for another opinion, but i have gotten burned a few times too, so it is advise well given.
If you do get the camper, let us know. We'd love pics and to help you name it.....

It's funny you mention the class B because that's also what I'm looking into, but most Class B's have curved roofs, so where do you put solar? I currently have my heart set on solar. I want to be as self contained as possible.

This vehicle is a class b RV or am I missing something......<br />Another thing to keep in mind and I am trying not to step on AJ's toes here esp. as my GM knowledge is meager.... but 350's are everywhere...one of the most common engines around. If it does go Tango Uniform, it is not the end of the world to have another put in it. Not only many around but it is a tried and true engine....I do agree on the four bolt mains&nbsp; but unless the guy knows it has been replaced with one, the only way you would be able to tell that I know of is to pull the oil pan and look.
