Spent the last 16 years camping and hiking the deserts, mountains and beaches of Baja, looking for rock art and Indian artefacts etc. I'm 71, originally from the UK and just built my own pop top camper based on designs from many european campers. It sits on a 2002 Tacoma 4x4 and spends a lot of time off road in the western US. I have an 85 watt panel, ONE die hard platinum battery, combination starter/deep cell, Engel fridge, inverter etc. I have 20 gal water tank with pump, sink and hose drain, no tanks. Bathroom is hole and shovel or plastic bucket with toilet seat/lid attachment. Heating is Mr Buddy mid size and I carry about 9 refilled green mini tanks. Cooking is single burner for inside and coleman burner and griddle for outside, with two pole awning setup. Shower is outside setup with solar bag and/or pump up sprayer. I'm completely self contained. I'm not a full timer and live in Oceanside, Ca, but could easily be one and am very impressed by what I have seen in your videos, the site philosophy and feelings of tribal family. I intend to attend your summer RTR outside Flagstaff and meeting a lot of you. Thanks for this website. Bajabloke.

Welcome! Glad you found your way here. This will be my first RTR, too. Looking forward to meeting you!

Welcome!!  Lots of great people here, chime in anywhere... sounds like you'll be answering questions rather than still asking them like I do.   :p
