Hi,
Been basically wandering for a year. I do not think I can bear another Michigan winter. I tried Tennessee due to work for stay opportunities but even in March at night it was in lower 20’s. I’m hoping to head towards Ga, Fla etc. I’m hoping there’s a small community to share out there. I also was a former mechanic and automotive engineer in my younger years if there is a community with shared skill sets.
Anyways I’m glad to know of others like myself. I drive a 2003 Montana as it’s all I can afford for the moment.

Welcome to the CRVL forums Lost1! We have a few members that live in Florida or are snowbirds. Hopefully they'll chime in and you guys can get together.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Helllo and welcome to the CRVL Forums Lost1  :)

In your Nomadic ventures do you have a plan (or itinerary) or are you just enjoying drifting ?

The bottom link in my signature lines below may be of some interest to you,  especially the "follow the 70 degree weather"
video in the weather section.   The links in the "trip planning" section may enable you to get more for your miles traveled too.

In Florida, if you draw a line across the state from St Petersburg on the Gulf to Vero Beach on the Atlantic...anything below
there shouldn't see frost in the winter season.

All the best !

Check out the wildlife areas for camping and seasonal jobs in Florida!

Go west, young man ... unless, of course, you can't bear to leave the East Coast. I'm hoping to spend part of the winter in Texas. Southern Texas, on the Gulf Coast. I was there in January 2017 and the weather was pretty mild.

Hi eDJ,
I dont see a "follow the 70 degree weather" in your weather section. Unless you have to click one of the ones there and get to it that way. Some pretty helpful stuff on there tho'. Thank you. I also am looking for warmer weather but I am already in N Alabama, so need to get further south.

Say Jilly,

Look right below the Weather Conditions Panel and there is a Heat Index and  a Wind Chill Index.  To the right side of the Wind Chill Index there is where the follow the 70 degree youtube video is.  Just click the link under the little USA Map.

You may want to watch this a few times to become familiar with how it works.  At the top it shows each month & day of the year as the red dots move across the map showing where the 70 degree weather is.

I think you'll like it.  If you can't get it on a Cell you may have to use a computer like at a Library or somewhere.
