Had the same thing happen to me about 10 years ago with my Subaru Outback.
I kept getting parking tickets after I sold it to the guy.
By coincidence the location of the parking violations was all in the same area just down the street from my PObox at the time.
So on a hunch I walked down there to see if it was around. Not sure what I had on my mind. Catch the guy getting out of the car?
Well I came around the corner and saw my former car.
Being on the hook for $70 each time he forgot to move it for street sweeping kind of overcame me, and next thing I knew I'd kicked the sideview mirror off the car. In hindsight it was an entirely unjustifiable act. In a court of law I'd be liable for damages no matter what came before.
But I was going through some issues at the time. I was also quite pissed at having to sell the car because of a mechanical issue I couldn't afford to fix.
That Outback ran perfectly for years and handled perfectly.
