Fulltiming on the Central Coast, CA, in a friend's driveway for 8 months. I've been stopping in here, periodically, to read personal stories; the trials & tribulations of full-time life and to catch up on technical diy stuff. Yes, I tend to prefer lurking, but wanted to express my gratitude. Many of us are in transition; trying to successfully make our way through. Reading the personal stories here made me realize I was in good company. It can be a pretty scary, uncertain, disorienting, off-balance kind of thing, whether planned or unplanned, so it's been nice to see how others handle it. I'm selling my RV and car to transition to a Promaster so I can travel. I -never- would have considered a van if not for this site. In addition, the plethora of videos on the subject really drew me in.  I do wish I could make it to the RTR, but maybe next year.

Thank you Bob and all the contributors here. Thank everyone for the tremendous amount of work you've invested in filming, editing and uploading videos to YT. You've all had an extraordinary impact on my life; a life I thought was irregular, but learned it's more ubiquitous and fulfilling than I ever realized.

Life is successful when you find yourself surrounded by people who make you feel good about yourself, while stepping aside to let the others pass through.

Welcome to CRVL forums Mocean. Love the Promaster/Sprinter type vehicles, I'm currently in a 23' TT but thinking about transitioning to a large van or class "B" in the future...

Maybe you can make Bob's RTR Flagstaff this coming summer...

Good luck on the build and safe travels....

Thank you Deal Breaker!  I've been investigating vans for a while and have settled on the PM. It seems all the high tops have problems,  so it came down to which were the cheapest to repair. ? The PM seems to be it for me. It may not be the most comfy to drive, but I'll make it work. I have absolutely no idea how to convert it, but I'm forging ahead anyway.  I'm looking at one in 2 hrs.

Thank you for the nice welcome.  Love Flag in the Summer. Hope I can make it.

Well said, @mocean!

Thank you rvwandering. I look foward to contributing whatever I can. There has been no greater joy for me in my life than discovering a way to live that doesn't involve living someone else's life pattern. Stretching my arms out as far as they can reach to experience space; the room to move freely has been at the core of my endeavor into this lifestyle. All the good people here and other like-minded folks are responsible for altering my path in the most wonderful way. It's a unique and wonderful experience to live to my own expectations rather than striving to meet the expectations of others. What a concept!:)
