When I heard the news of his death yesterday, my heart sunk to my stomach. I immediately remembered LBJ saying the words "It is with a heavy heart that I come to you..." when Kennedy was assassinated. Not wanting to believe and heartbroken, I cannot listen to his music today without tears falling down my face. A hard working, conscientious, charismatic musical genius, I had a crush on him since the Eagles broke onto the music scene with his song "Take It Easy" , one of my traveling songs.
I am reminded that death can often be unexpected and when I am most unprepared to let go. I struggle to accept.

There is space on Mt Rushmore for one more image; that's how much I enjoy his talent.

Yes the news was bad for me too. I'll miss you bud!
I have seen too many of my good friends in the music business pass away.
Many at a young age from drug related causes.
At least Glen lived a long life , I'm sure Don , Bernie , Tim and Joe are having a bad day too.

I'll post a few back stage pics from the early days for fans .

Me too. I understand. He is one of those selected talents with a permanent place in my heart. Along with Gregory Peck and a few others.

I am sure they are the worst day, or one of them. Here is the song that started it all.

Looks like you had some amazing gigs when you were in the bid-ness, rvpopeye. You must have been quite young when those pics were taken, too. You ran sound, didn't you? (But you are at the side/back in those pics.) Good memories of another kind of adventure.
