Hi Almost There, I'm in my early 50s and can't remember the last time a man even looked at me LOL.

Ha! I am in my 70's and not attracting any attention, either.

Ladies, I'm almost 60 (how did THAT happen) I'm not going to be attracting too many males anymore and surely will be forever solo this late in life. But Lordy is there nothing better than waking spooned with a large warm bear. I do so miss it.

OK. I hope this doesn't come out wrong, but I think you will be safer than you expect. You will also find men who are nice people and who are willing to be just friends. It's a matter of biology. The young bucks won't be interested in you and the older gentlemen will be reaching a stage in life when they are not much interested in anyone - and could do very little about it if they were.

I was just stating my experience so that it might be helpful to someone. In fact, i am not interested in finding a romantic or sexual partner aND hAvent been for some time.  However, I have been contacted via PM by a few men since joining this site, several asking for pictures right off the bat, so I don't know that I agree entirely with your theory.  We can agree to disagree.  :)

Mainly, i am really looking for a tribe of like minded people...on or off the road would be great...male or female doesn't matter as long as they are respectful and kind.

The big advantage of having your own rig vs living in an apartment is that if the 'neighbors' are too obnoxious, you can just drive away!

Reading through this thread was as effective as watching the comedians on YT (for comedic therapy)!
Thanks! :)

I'm glad this thread was resurrected. I posted I was almost 60. What was I thinking giving myself extra years? Who does that but a teenage girl? I'm 58. Not even 58 and a half [emoji3].

And Michele - they start asking for photos again you can always send a nekkid photo like this one:

That should wake them up

I"m a flirt, always have been and old habits die hard. I just make up a long distance boyfriend if I get too much interest from somebody. I'm also not above acting totally helpless when I really need a hand with lifting something or fixing something that is beyond my capabilities. Don't get me wrong, I did my own tune up on my motorhome and replaced a broken furnace when "the guys" told me I shouldn't even try. Yes, there was one bolt I couldn't loosen and I was ever so appreciative that there was a guy willing to help out an old lady. I'm past the age where climbing under my vehicle is easy so yes, I did get someone to put the new fuel filter on. I paid him of course and he got first choice of he homemade brownies I made while he was working. I will never forget traveling through West Virginia and finding a huge bubble on a tire when I stopped for gas. There was a car show in the parking lot of a grocery store nearby and I asked a crowd of "Good Ol Boys" where I could get it changed. In five minutes I was on my way with the spare installed, they wouldn't even let me buy them coffee. There are great guys out there, I just don't want one traveling with me

Well decodancer, I've been widowed several years now and guys are great for a hell of a lot more than fixing a tire (if my memory doesn't fail me [emoji31]). You've got your wheels so can always keep moving on down the road. Nothing says you have to take one with you.

decodancer's post reminds me of the time I was in an automotive class and the only female. During the lab portion, the class of guys worked on my van before working on their vehicles! Although I appreciated it, the reason I was taking the class was to become more independent!

BTW Cammalu, what is that a pic of?...or is it computer-generated?

I've seen a few new female members and although I can't reply on all of your threads, I still wanted to offer some advice that wasn't redundant.
Beyond the obvious things you'll need to absorb, you need to be forewarned about people's reactions to solo woman on the road who intend on staying solo.
People will have a hard time accepting it.
I was a wild adventurer for several decades, a traveling salesgirl with my own biz designed to support my interest in travel. Women I met along the way shook their heads, said they'd never travel alone. They'd only go if they had a male companion.
My free spirit needed to fly whichever direction I wanted to go each and every day. Loved every minute of it. Always got off road before dark. Never had a bit of trouble, carried $$$ valuables for biz.
No more valuables when I hit the road next time. Best thing I'll have with me is my super duper bed!

Exact opposite for me.  Senior year in high school (1978) I took a small engines class to learn the basics, it was me and one other girl, and 12 guys.  The instructor didn't want us there because he didn't want to have to teach, the rest of the class was farm guys who took it for an easy A.  We were supposed to take apart a 2 stroke Briggs and Stratton engine and put it back together, if it ran, you passed.  He put the two of us together to work, gave us a manual and retired to his office to read the paper.  The guys did theirs in a couple of days and just worked on their cars the rest of the semester.  She and I struggled, trying to figure it out, the teacher wouldn't help, the guys told us "you shouldn't even be here" when we'd ask them a question.  We finished the engine and it ran pretty rough, but it ran so we got D's.

Then, you learned lots!! :)

Heh. I have found that the best way to get someone to do something for you is to just say, "I bet you can't do that" :) Works on men *and* women.

As for unwanted attention, I have to laugh because my whole life, I never got much attention from men. I stopped going to the bar with certain friends because what would always happen is they would be showered with attention and men buying them drinks and I would be out dancing by myself. Until recently. In the past 5 years or so, I have had some pretty hot young men try to pick me up at the bar. I think they are looking for a sugar momma LOL.

Slynne, ya never know. You might just be what some of those young bucks are looking for.

It never ceases to surprise me when I get an obvious hit from a man half my age.. feels a bit weird doesn't it? No way not going there!
