Have read many discussions about persons living a mobile lifestyle, and then complaining about the government and how its messed up.  How they wished they could never pay taxes again. How we should just dump all government programs to the minimum, as they end up just making problems.  But finding that very hypocritical when persons says this.  I have said this also.

1)  Your parents and your medical insurance is partially paid for by government programs, and so is yours.
2)  Your clean water and clean air is watched, and legally enforced by government folks.
3)  Most jobs would expose you to very dangerous hidden chemicals, or hidden mechanical issues if you had no government.
4)  Most employee savings or pensions would be robbed empty, if government did not look of and enforce anti fraud laws.

So just feeling hypocritical about this when looking at my income sources and finding I have many government sources that help me.  Maybe this is too political a subject, so Bob go ahead and delete.

I think too many people don’t know what life condition is like in different countries. Some developed world seems too blinded by their own local situation and disregard what is going on elsewhere. Read ‘first world problem’. Most of the population doesn’t travel far away and live their entire life close to home. Every government in every country had issues, some is less than another. When I hear people complaining too much about a government and see no way to help change it, I say to them that they’re free to move to another country... they usually have nothing to say about that.

Want to learn more, Google complaining+psychology.

With all of our problems it's still an excellent country. Anyone can still bust their balls and work their way to the top if they are willing. Or you can take the free handouts and complain or you can chose to be somewhere in the middle. Our infrastructure is huge. Our roads are great.......if you don't think so drive around Mexico or Brazil or any of the 100's of other countries. In 98% of this country if you break down, or crash or get hurt or all 3 emergency services will quickly come to your aid. Gas is cheap compared to most other developed countries. We Americans are spoiled and that's all there is too it.

Do taxes suck, sure to an extent. Does government suck, sure to an extent. But people suck worse and with out the govt watching over them they tend to do worse things to their fellow man then government does. It's a necessary evil. Could their be improvement....sure than can be improvement in anything. If you ever stop, think and do a little research into all the things taxes pay for, it's not as painful as just assuming it blows away, wasted in the wind. In fact, I believe our taxes paid for this wonderful thing we call the internet.

Everyone is different, and have different blind spots.  Here is the reality through my eyes.

1)  I am on SSDI, but I paid more in taxes per week than I get in SSDI a month.  I do my part to keep the economy working.

2)  That is subjective, and many companies are lobbying to change those rules.

3)  See # 2

4)  Where available. ~~~ See #2

This is where someone who is passionate can find a battle to fight on their own time.

We as members of the Human Tribe need to try to do our piece to leave this host planet a little better than we found it.  After 50 years of working, (Yes I was pre teen when I got my first paying work) I tend to do what I can for free.  Sometimes I can only function for a short time.

:D   Thanks for this post.  I will start looking for a cause to devote my final days.  :D

Yup, they might try migrating to someplace like Honduras or Mexico (without the "convenience" of a favorable exchange rate and a pile of greenbacks of course) where the people get nada in terms of infrastructure, public services, social safety net, etc. And it's not just complaining about the 'gubmint' but other aspects of society as well,  all the while enjoying the perks and benefits of that which they scorn.

People complain about society all the while enjoying the benefits of it. If there were no people who went to work every day, (like it or not), there would be no hospital to run to when sick. No 911, No utilities, Sure your independent, but who built your vehicle, solar panels, controllers, batteries, shade tarps, etc. What would you do without fuel? A lot of people go to work every day to benefit those that don't need to for one reason or another, Are the receivers grateful, no. An old friend told me years ago, gratitude is the shortest lived of all human emotions. What have you done for me lately? If you hate society, get the heck off of public lands.

The same people that cry Socialism cash their Social Security checks. Not even going to go into food stamps and subsidised housing. I bet none of them turn down Medicare at 65 either. The same people that cry Capitalism never turn down higher income. Someone once said people either want less graft, or a piece of the action.

Yes I see a lot of hypocrisy here as well.

Most people complain when they think things could be better.

That's not such a bad position to take. And I'm not convinced that the world would be a better place if everyone accepted what they got with a shit eating grin.

That being said, it's annoying as hell to listen too and mostly pointless when it's not paired with action.
