Hi everyone. One thing I have noticed on this forum is that we hear a lot from people who plan on vandwelling and how they plan on doing things. I would love to see some real-life ebooks from women who are actually out there living the life, 24/7, the good, the bad, the fear, safety issues, and all the advice they are willing to share. Real-life experiences, situations and solutions would be invaluable. Brenda Curtis has a very good one (LordandCurtiss), but I would love to see others too. Katie?

Brenda's book is awesome. She's been living in her van for several years now. It's not a recap of places she has been or sights seen, but real nuts and bolts of how to do things. She also has included a state-by-state list of laws including hours allowed at rest stops by state, etc. Good stuff!

Not me, I'm not a real one. But a good one is Mar's I think it's "life at 55 mph" she full timed for a year or two, had two blogs.

ROFL.... not real, Katie? Anybody who carries a knife in her boot is as REAL as it gets!!! Loved the post on your blog of the guy's gun vs your knife! I'll check out Life at 55 blog. Thanks.

Hello!!! I have been planning to join this forum 'forever' (especially since I heard Katie was here & a moderator or more! When I read her saying she wasn't real.. that did it!

First, someone posted the link about you gp mentioning me & my 'vandwelling' eBook:
'How to Set Up & Comfortably Camp or Live in Your Vehicle or Van!'

gp: Thank you so much for your kind comments, it really blessed me!

OK, so.... Katie not real? Hahahahahahaha!!! As a person? As real as it gets, down to earth just really cool person!!! And not a real vandweller? Are you kidding me??? She may not be vandwelling currently but she has spent plenty of time in her van(s) she self set-up and traveled all over the place. She is a wealth of info, second only to possessing a wealth of personality & heart! Actually, I personally planned for years... literally years. I was one of those single parents that raised my son (who is now 30 married & in his own world period of life... + I have no grandkids yet so my travels are perfect timing IMO) anyhow so I planned & dreamed for many years as one of those stuck to a buzillion hour corp jobs.

I have been vandwelling fulltime now for over 3 years. I have traveled across the country years ago in a pick-up camper & had a TT for a few years but officially full-time vandwelled since Oct 11, 2009. The first year mostly in a fixed place up in the GA mountains & the last 2 years+ traveled as a vandweller. I have heard Bob Wells say many times that traveling with the seasons was the way to go and he was so right!!!

Anyway... back to Katie... way back when I was still planning and dreaming it was Katie's spirit& love for vandwelling & her pics of her set-up of her van that made me feel I really could set up a van & vandwell full-time! Her pics have stayed with e to this day, she & then inspired me so much!!! It is part of the reason that I post so many pics myself. I am so thankful for Katie... who she is and the example she has set. She is indeed an inspiration! Katie not really vandweller! Wow... she is an ultimate down to earth real person with real heart vandweller in my book. Whether she is currently vandwelling is imaterial, she is the awesome gal she is.

Sorry to pop on here but just had to say thanks so much to gp and speak my heart about Katie! Brenda, it's so good to see you here. I've been checking your blog and was wondering if you are OK since it's been a while since you posted. No kidding, your book is excellent.. no fluff, just very useful info and practical advice from somebody whose been there. And your perspective on vandwelling and life in general is awesome, as is your totally GIRLY VAN!

Gail

Thanks Gail! Yeah I am a girly girl & my van reflects that LOL. I believe you need to set-up your van based on what works for 'you'. No one person is doing it the 'correct' way. It is about what works for the individual with their own preferences etc. My 2 cents anyway LOL. I figure if I am going to live in my van then it needs to feel like 'me'. Tht is what inspired me so much about Katie's van set-up way back when... it reflected 'her'... It was down to earth & cool! I loved it! Vandwelling became more doable to me in my own mind when I saw her van interior set-up!

Thanks again Gail (& Katie)! And yeah I got ridiculously behind on my blog and other things that are so important to me due to mostly my telecommute job. I have made a promise to myself to not neglect the things that really matter to me including my blog!I have pics on there (Is that Gail with a comment on my blog you?) I am going to finish that post tonight and then do a blog post at least every other week if not once a week. Thanks for jarring me back to life & reminding me what really matters to me!

I have a couple articles that were written about me & my pup Gabriel & our vandwelling travels on some of my former blog posts + lots of pics too.

Thanks again Gail! I have meant to join here for so long! So glad I finally did!

Blessings for Your Journeys, Brenda
