AJ452 one of the reasons I went with the 20" wheel is it is a lot easier to ride off pavement also I've heard some Rover riders are getting loose spokes from radical riding and the high torque of the electtic motor that doesn't seem to affect the 20" wheels shorter spokes.

Haha, I don't plan on any radical riding, a least not intentionally! That stuff was a couple decades ago for me. I haven't noticed any spoke issues myself yet but I'll keep an eye out.

Nothing wrong with 20" - I've loved all mine over the years! Just prefer 26" for obstacles and stuff.

Yeah the shipping update was updated, the bike came in Saturday afternoon, when it was raining, of course. So, later in the day, I unboxed it, did the assembly, added a couple accessories, and charged the battery.

That evening, I took it for a little ride, of about 3 miles.

Then today, I put about 16 miles on it and never left the city limits of this little town.

Fun stuff! But don't kid yourself, it's a workout riding this thing...sure you can use JUST the throttle but where is the fun in that? I have a motorcycle that works without pedals, I bought this thing to use the pedals.

As you can see, the pooch is liking it too!

just love my RAD MINI !!!

had it since about xmas 2017. came in real handy at the RTR lost track of how many folks took it for a little test spin. runs to the store. emergency transport if i get stuck or broke down. easy to ride. i use peddle assist 3 most of the time with throttle boost on hills. at level 3 i am doing 15-20 mph on relatively flat roads and it fells like cruising the boardwalk, and i get 20+ miles on a charge

i even use it to pull one of my kayaks...

I didn't think I would like the petal assist but come to find out just keeping the petals spinning is easier for me than holding the throttle on! How lazy is that! About the only time I use the throttle now is in deep sand when I put my feet down to help keep the bike up. The milk crate basket works really well if you use some small bungee cords to hold stuff in like water bottles, other wise I tend to loose them. I took some pipe insulation and a thick bungee and wrapped it around the front of the milk crate to make a sort of back rest that really helps on long rides.

Cool....I left a comment over there...

I need to do something about the seat tho....it's a bit uncomfortable for more than about a half hour or so...

Yeah the milk crate is kinda 'low-rent' I guess, but I had it so I used it. I saw some white ones online....color matched plastic luggage, anyone?

The RadMini has threaded inserts on the top of the factory rack, I think they are for a baby seat, but they work well with the crate...plus I used some heavy-duty zip-ties....I can actually lift the back of the bike by using the milk-crate handles...I dont think I could do that with a $75 'oh-fish-ul' bike luggage pack!

Tex will you let Bella and I take it for a test drive?

My Radmini is black so a black milk crate works. My wife's is white but being short she didn't want anything higher than the seat to throw her leg over.

cool, saw that. wish i had paddle assist on the old yak...

as for the seat comfort... i found that Trek bikes makes a compression seatpost that fits the rad mini. i think it is the 27.x millimeter post, the size is stamped into the seatpost somewhere. any shop that sells trek should ba able to order you one of the posts. it comes on many of their road bikes. i paid about $25 for mine and it has about an inch of travel. makes a world of difference smoothing out the bumps. i also replaced the stock saddle with a cheep Schwinn springer seat from walmart. that was $20-25 also. the 2 together makes it nice. i am on the heavy side and i can see the springer seat is getting bent up a lil. when it gives up the ghost ill spend he money for a good springer seat

Of course!  I wondered if you were on the board... Now I know! I bet Bella and Cammie would enjoy riding...Cammie loves it, she wags her tail and hops right in the 'buggy'.....she's always ready to go for a ride!

She hated riding on the motorcycle....I wasn't sure how this would go over but she loves it...I'm glad I spent the money.

I bought a nice Schwinn Comfort saddle, but the way the RadMini seat post is made, it won't fit...So I will have to figure something else out.

Yeah the basket is in the way for swinging a leg over, so I just step thru the bike, and mount it that way.

Tex, didn’t have much service this summer! Camped with Doug @ Craggy Wash. I think Bella would love it!

There is a guy in California on the tnttt.com bicycle form that has an early Radmini with the front rack and 100 miles on the odo for $1000.

I found an online source for a replacement seat post that will adapt my new comfy Schwinn saddle to this bike...of course it's on a slow boat from...somewhere. I have one of these Schwinn Comfort Saddles on my other bicycle, and its comfy!

I have about 35 miles on the RadMini so far, and the only thing that really limits me is the seat. Ok, for a little while, but rough pavement and broken sidewalk cracks are very uncomfortable, so I stand on the pedals to cushion the ride.
