Do non-stick pots and pans exist that are non-toxic?

I don't want to do the Teflon thing so I was wondering if non-stick pots and pans exist that are non-toxic? Bottom line is: I'm looking for super easy to clean pots and pans that won't poison my food so I can reduce water usage. Is there such a thing?<br><br>Thanks<br><br>Steve
 
I just use cast iron with butter. My food never sticks. I never like or trusted Teflon fry pans and pots.

I bought the "As seen on TV" Orgreenic skillet and am very pleased with it.
 
I want to check out the Orgreenic also.
 
I primarily use my small cast iron skillet with olive oil. &nbsp;After cooking I put in a teaspoon of salt and wipe it clean with a napkin. &nbsp;It's rare that things stick to it
 
Cast iron is king.<br><br>Check the "green" pans. Target stores sell them. Ceramic.

seasoned cast iron is great tho heavy.
also great and less heavy is a seasoned carbon steel wok...like in chinese restraunt kitchens not a walmart purchase
 
I hadn't heard of the StoneDine and StoneLine stuff but the reviews are very high at Amazon. I see in their FAQ that they don't use PFOA but don't see anything about PTFE or silicone, or what was used to bond the stone surface together. Do you know?<br><br>

It's hard to make anything really stick to a WELL SEASONED cast iron skillett.&nbsp; I also have the Organic Green Ceramic skillett that I bought at Wallmart for $19.95 and so far I'm happy with it.&nbsp; Just remember to follow the directions and season the green skillette the first time before using it.
 
I just ordered the same $20 Orgreenics pan from Walmart. Its amazing how all over the map the reviews for that pan are at Amazon. If it doesn't work the way I want then I'll go with cast iron. Thanks.
 
I have "GreenPan". Ceramic not other stuff. From Target. They are the best pans I have ever used, and I love my cast iron, but CI takes maintenance.
 
yea, cast iron has many contaminates. when "seasoned" it has all the contaminates from burnt fats. Some place and time we have to get away from a stick over flame. the new "greenpan" are made in China, good QC there. Original were Belgium.

<br><br>Really? I thought that with the heat, it would kill off any contaminants or bacteria. I recently got two cast iron frying pans, good quality T-Fal (one large and one small, both very heavy). Only used a few times, as I'm not familiar with using them. Maybe they just need to be well seasoned (even though they were supposedly "pre-seasoned" when I got them). As I move out of a house and into my van, I'm starting to get things ready. Been wondering what to do about cookware. I'll probably get a cast iron saucepan or stewing pot.&nbsp;<br><br>The reason I bought the cast iron is because I also heard so many people swear by them. And apparently, they let out a bit of natural iron, which our bodies need anyways. I know many avid campers using cast iron cookware. I've used Teflon non-stick frying pans and Corningware Visions pots for years. But I recently sold my Corningware Visions because they are glass and can - and do - break (ask me how I know&nbsp;<img src="/images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif" class="emoticon bbc_img">&amp;nbsp<img rel="lightbox" src="/images/boards/smilies/wink.gif" class="bbc_img">.And my Teflon frying pans are near the end of their life, so I'll be tossing them out. I've got a few Sears stainless Steel pots and pans, but they actually "do" stain easily (mostly from too much heat) and food always seems to stick to it.<br><br>Stonedine or Orgreenics stuff looks good. I'd want a saucepan and a frying pan. But it seems you can only get a huge "set" or just a frying pan. Maybe I should just figure out how to properly season my T-Fal cast iron frying pans and look for a cast iron saucepan or pot. I just found some good tips for seasoning cast iron at http://www.wikihow.com/Season-Cast-Iron-Cookware but I need to get some Crisco or Canola oil before I can try it out. I only have olive oil, not sure if that will work as well. And... as nice as they look, I won't have space to store a complete "set" of Stonedine or Orgreenics. Too bad you can't just order the items you want. Oh, and then I need to figure out which sort of stove to get - probably a 1 burner Coleman type propane stove.
