These were just drunk guys or stoned. I had the only fire pit plus some kids had made a beautiful sundial and I had the put-in. It was just luck I got there the same time a family was leaving and they saved it for me. I paddled every day and did worry about my tents a bit. But each evening they and a notice from some ranger about not staying over 14 days were there. Seriously, so coveted even the ranger left me notes...lol

Went for a hike this evening. Came across a hillside with a peace signwith PEACE underneath in mosiac quartz. Went further and on an adjoining hill there was a mosaic of a westy van with the word HOME underneath. Upon returning 2 women in a hightop van were setting up across from me. They set up in a peculiar spot didn't make sense to me. They kept getting stuck as well. They would free themselves then get stuck again. They set up in between the areas they got stuck. When they leave it will be inevitable that they will get stuck. Makes you think.

I can see where guys might come with their kayaks and stay for weeks. And notes from the Ranger too.

I rafted the Arkansas River once when some guys came out from North Carolina to visit. Don't remember anything special happening on that trip. You have to realize, Liv, that you were a "little" girl when I was doing those fun things, and my memory not so good these days. I did do the Green River from the Gates of Lodore in a raft, and that was somewhat more serious.

Q- I have always wanted to do the Green. I almost did the Boundary Waters, last year but the man hosting it had never even paddled before. Seriously, he'd just bought his first canoe. He was a good planner though. When he told me it would be his first paddle, I slowly slipped away...Ias did the others. I hope he had a good time, though.

1/2, I believe it's not uncommon for RVs to get stuck in the wash there.

When I was in Death Valley last November, I found that I very much enjoyed taking a walk first thing in the morning, which I rarely do otherwise. All that was ever out there were me and the coyotes. First thing in my case is 9 AM! Camping out, you'll likely be getting regular exercise.

Liv, there are several sections of the Green you can do. Gates of Lodore is water on the bigger side. Then there is Desolation Canyon above Green River UT, which is pretty tame as I understand. Some people go from Green River UT to Mineral Bottom. I did canoe with a group from Mineral Bottom to Spanish Bottom, which hardly had a riffle.

Then there are trips below Spanish Bottom through Cataract Canyon, with more big rapids.

My sweet sweet daughter in law called me tonight after she found out I was going to be in Parker for the van build. She informed me that her aunt has a rv at a resort in Parker. Thst I am to call her for a drink or a meal. She had just bought a new RV and is swapping items from the old to the new. If I remember correctly her old one is only 2 years old. She is nice from what I understand but one of those keeping up with the jones people. But for my sweet sweet daughter in law I will do it. Maybe Chicken Fried Steak meal?

Thanks for the tip Q.

Liv, it has been allright. I miss showering. Makes me come alive after a shower. Plus in the military I would go for extended periods of time without proper hygiene. Was no fun. But hopefully I will have the shower operational soon. May have to rent a motel and take several showers.LOL.

In between being able to find a real shower, and not having one in the van, what I do is swab down every night using the wash basin before hopping into bed. At least you feel a bit clean, and get the sweat off.

Got tired of Hong Kong Noodles. Cooked a country scramble outside on the induction cooktop. Thank ypu Sun very much. Hashbrowns with bacon, yellow peppers, onion, and T.ilamook cheese . Made enough for 2 meals. Put the leftovers  in the fridge. The battery bank hardly winced.

I have 2 cases of wipes. Costco thank you very much.

Exact ones I use but if I can't get to a Costco, most everywhere sells them but cost more.

So 1/2, have you met any of the youtubers yet? Given any interviews? Explored LHC? The old main street runs east a few blocks up from the bridge. When I was there they had an old classic car meetup parked along the street past the Albertsons.

Since this thread will never die it seems, I talked my son and DIL into going to Ma Goodson's tomorrow. I've been hungry for CFS since it started. It will be nice to get out for a bit. Staying cooped up is not good for my soul.

I'll post pics of the spread.

I don't think anything can beat the pic in post #136. I did find a local outlet for CFS, but not gotten there as yet.

I'm thinking that 1/2 should start his own youtube channel .... "Shadows Tours the Great CFS Spots in the West: My 8,000 Mile Journey".

^^^Made me LOL

The pic I posted was the large. The small one is about 2/3 that size. Anymore, the small is more than I can eat too so doggy bag it is.
