FWIW - I had a Chevy fleet dealer tell me the 4.8 will not be offered in the 2018 Express/Savanna.  Instead they will offer the 4.3 V6, and continue to offer the 6.0 V8 and the small diesel.

Most Chevy fans seem to be happy with the official announcement of the 2018 Chevrolet Express Cargo Van. In this stagnant market of pickup trucks and compact crossovers, Chevrolet’s announcement comes as a breath of fresh air for everybody. While people are often confused between the choice of a pickup truck and a cargo van, a deeper research of this Express will help people decide even better.

P2018 Chevrolet Express Cargo Van – Powerful Engine
Rumors say this Cargo van from Chevy will include three engine options – The base model will include a 5.3-liter V8 engine producing 310 hp. Its 2500 variant will probably get hold of a 4.8-litre or 6.0-litre engine churning out 350 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque. The 3500 express as its third variant will receive a 6.6-liter turbo diesel V8 engine capable of producing 260hp and 525 lb-ft of torque.

While power options seem to be quite similar to the Ford 150 or GMC Sierra 1500. Where the 2018 Chevrolet Express Cargo Van stands out is in its fuel efficiency. It provides 19 mpg in cities and 22 mpg on highways which beats Ford’s 150 by a slight margin.
Noteworthy to mention is the towing capacity this engine offers. With a payload capacity of more than 4,000 lbs and a towing capacity of almost 10,000 lbs, this cargo van is ready to give a tough competition to any of its segment relevant pickups."
