Mx is talking about closing the border with the US.They only have about 6 cases of the virus now.

Changes are supposed to be temporary. Could all be back to normal by the time ppl want to travel in July.

European borders look a mess also with long lines of vehicles waiting to cross. Cargo is the priority and we all have cargo vans, so there ya go.  Just load up some cases of TP and you're good to go.-crofter

actually we don't ALL have cargo vans. Lots of people in the forum have mini vans, trailers, passenger cars, truck campers. etc.

Here is the excerpt of the Canadian Prime Ministers statement. The link shown at the top of this thread does leads to an error for no page found.

"On Monday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Canada would close its borders to anyone who is not a citizen or permanent resident with some exceptions, such as American citizens, diplomats, flight crew and the immediate family of citizens. He also advised that Canadians currently abroad should return as soon as possible"

In other news stories I have seen the following is what is being said.

The border between the USA and Canada is not closed but in British Columbia, Canada, they are advising that Canadian citizens do not visit the USA and have politely requested that USA citizens not visit British Columbia.

I still think you'd make the crossing with a cargo of TP, even on a mule. Seems to be the new currency.   -crofter

It would be risky to cross with a cargo of TP, they would open the van and look and go WOW, white gold, and then confiscate it because you did not stop to get the paperwork for importing it into Canada.

2000 lbs. of Charmin would be plenty of paperwork.. :exclamation:

A ton of Charmin would need more than a van I'm guessing.

Maybe something like this:

yes it is in the news that some restricted movement at the Canadian border is pretty much going to happen.

Quotation below from this linked report from the newsnetwork CNN given as a courtesy for those who have limited bandwidth

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/17/politics/us-canada-suspend-travel/index.html
The United States and Canada are preparing to issue a joint statement in the next 24-48 hours to suspend non-essential travel between the two countries, a Trump administration official tells CNN.
The agreement is not yet finalized and officials are still working to define "non-essential travel," but the official stressed that the new restrictions will ensure that business and trade between the two countries can continue.
The joint agreement would be the latest effort by the US and Canada to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, following decisions by both countries to restrict some international travel.
Part of the discussions involve what types of vehicles and individuals would still be allowed to travel between the two countries and for what purpose, the official said. The restrictions will likely allow for significant flexibility.

Unlike travel restrictions on Europe and China, this would be a mutual agreement between the two countries.
"The Canadians have been our friends throughout this and many other crises, and they continue to be honest brokers," the official said.
When Trump was asked at the coronavirus task force briefing whether he was considering closing the US land borders on Tuesday, he said, "I don't want to say that, but we are discussing things with Canada and we're discussing things with Mexico, quite honestly, and again, the relationship is outstanding with both, outstanding. We just signed our deal, the USMCA, and the relationship is very strong."

The same will happen to the Mexico border as early as today.

Too bad, I was hoping one of the early test camping runs when my build was finished would be up to British Columbia.

So far Washington State has not closed the camp grounds but that is because not a lot of them are open until May. One of those ...stay tuned for further updates situations.
