Yep the YARC camp is a very sleepy RV village. A spell got put on it a couple of years ago. Now everyone is fighting to keep their eyes open. Princiess Camilla is in bed as soon as the sun sets which is around 5:30 in the afternoon. Lots of napping going on during the mornings as well as in the afternoon. I think it is called the "catnap curse"

It'd so quiet and peaceful, lots of air and sky, the stars are beautiful. No street lights to bother your sleeping.

Somewhere in the LTVA is another friend of mine, Mr Cob, and he and his fellow travelers are in large fifth wheels pulled by semi truck-tractors....commonly called HDT's...and yes I know they are plentiful there.

But his is a white and purple Peterbilt, pulling a large fifthwheel toyhauler called a Voltage. I believe he sets up somewhere within visual range of the main dirt road.

There may be a white smart car and/or a blue Can-Am ATV nearby.

Some of the YARC folks met him a couple of years ago...if you see him, drive nearby and tell him 'Howdy' from some dude in Texas....he will know who you are talking about without even telling him!

I think I show the rig yesterday. I thought it was a bit strange looking, but hey you have to use what you got.

I saw somebody on the road with a Cummins Dualy Diesel pulling a little bitty trailer on the way here. Kinda overkill, but what ever works.

Anyone off Plamosa near Bouse?

I see some of you all with really nice side by sides rolling by me now and then. “[emoji846]”

The HDT guys choose to go that route since even dually pickups are over-stressed when pulling the large 5th wheel trailers.

A class 7 or 8 truck tractor can pull those big heavy trailers and all the rolling toys with no effort at all.

Not now but I toy with the idea of going over there when tt he umofficiacial  and unorganized WRTR  hang  out camp.

I saw a bunch of those big rigs grouped all together yesterday. I’ll have to look and see if I can find the one matching that description

I angled into the southern sun so maybe my Solar will work better and maybe I can keep the down a little bit.

The sun was coming right in my door.

When I was helping Brian ayt YARC today I noticed you had reposotioned your RV

Yes I am pointing south now the front of the RV is a bit lower, so I should get more sun, and I hope to keep the some of the dust down.

For those that are parked at the YARC I bought 2 slabs of Baby Back Ribs, and I will probably smoke those in the morning.

I found some different rub to try. It will take at least 4 hours on the smoker to cook, maybe more.

Another item I hadn't thought about is nasal spray, the dust here will dry your nose out. But at least today it is raining.

Freelander, I have never been there but I am planning on going next year when things settle down. If you were to  park strategically, you could essentially be up wind of the prevailing wind,  correct?  I also notice everyone has several dogs, is the cumulative  barking pretty bad.

If your here when the ribs are done you are welcome, I don't have any Tator Salad, but I will have some ribs, 2 slabs is about all I can fit at one time.

No cumulative barking issue at any camps I have been to. Barking annoys the owners as well as the neighbors.

Strategic parking for wind tends to be  less important than strategic parking for maximixing solar. But of course some people use potable solar panels and as many times the wind is from the north or nortwest or even northeast now and again. then you get a 2 for one, blocking wind and protecting portable panel by using your rig for wind

I am pointed into the south so my panels will get more Sun. I really have had any barking issues either.

Now the dust is just everywhere, with all the travel up and down the roads.
