I did this a few years ago, I got clever and thought what if I could basically get a greyhound bus pass ($500 for 2 months nearly unlimited rides in that time) and go all over the country to take city photos, basically sleeping in the bus? Well, I did just that. I went to over 20 cities and stopped every few days in a motel, but I kept everything in my backpack and took a scooter with me (a Razor A5 kick scooter, adult size.) I miss those days actually, taking a bus ride to the next city in the evening, and arriving at the next city in the morning, having everything I needed in a backpack and small camera bag. I would make sure to go to cities that were around 6 hours away by bus, so I could get adequate sleep. The only bad part was going on day long trips, that really sucked. Other than that (as well as having to use public restrooms), it was awesome and part of the reason why I am more open to vandwelling.

Greyhound had this discovery bus pass for $560 right now (unlimited rides, except between two cities for more than 2 times I think), and Greyhound is going to discontinue selling the bus pass October 1st (supposedly because of their focus on their new Greyhound Express service with reserved seating), for me it was so awesome just showing the bus pass at the ticket desk and getting a bus ticket to go to the next city, and not having to worry about driving and just sleep on the bus.

Just wanted to share that.
