That wasn’t bickering, but a genuine suggestion I passed on from Julio who at Mammoth Smogs, the poor guy who discovered the rat in my engine. I promised him that I would try it before I brought my truck back for another try at passing the test. Either the dryer sheets worked or I’ve been lucky.
BTW, I highly recommend Mammoth Smogs if you are in the area and need a smog test. He is certified to do older vehicles and he doesn’t soak you for an arm and a leg if it doesn’t initially pass.
If you are worried about your battery, add a motion sensor to a couple strategically placed small led lights. Also, be sure to wrap those wire harnesses in plastic-encased steel wool sprayed with something the vermin don't like... Chewed wires is a potentially expensive lesson to learn...
