Will this just delaminate the rubber?   Any successes with this?  Thanks

Many suggest nuts/bolts on a rubber roof. Perhaps call a solar biz?

I found a youtube vid with a comment stating: "I researched the use of VHB tape a lot before I installed my solar panels with it. All failures I uncovered were from improper installation technique. To give it the best shot consider these points. Proper cleaning of the rv top under the foot mount, cure temps above 50 degrees, pressure applied for 2-3 day cure time ( place plywood on the panel and stack a few bricks on it ) sealing the mount with dicore/ sikiflex, and not putting too much air space under the panel. AM solar in Oregon (only business is to install solar on RV's) has been using 3m VHB tape for 20+ years and have no reported failures. Thanks for sharing your success as many in the RV world think this is not a good way to mount panels, but I think it has great merit."

 
I used VHB tape for my panel install on a aluminum roof prepped properly. I would not trust any rubber roof material to hold anything "stuck" to it without a bolt/nut going through it. VHB may or may not let go of rubber but the rubber might just tear. Dunno.... I don't think I'd be willing to try.

I would not trust it on a rubber roof. you would be relying on the adhesive under the rubber roof not the 3M tape. highdesertranger
 
I don't believe rubber roofs are solidly glued down enough to trust them to hold with a panel glued to them. The roof and panel will lift as one and possibly rip off.

Screw 'em down and seal with caulk compatible with the rubber roof.
 
I have had a couple rubber roof solar instalations.  

For the rubber roof to peal off it would take a tornado. It is fastened on the edges, and there is usually fairly heavy AC's also on top of them. Not going to happen.  

Under one roof I found luan and not much else.  on another there was 2 inches of polystyrene topped by a extremely thin metal layer.  Factory solar fasteners would do nothing to hold in those situations. 

I used VHB tape under the feet.  On top of that I used 1 inch aluminum flat bar cut to a 6 inch length held down with Gorila Construction Adheasive.  

The panels were not moving after the VHB tape.  The Gorrila adheasive step was extreme overkill IMHO.  But for an additional $20, I am positive that it is on there the best it can be.
