Having done well myself, my best advice would be........invest something, anything. If money is tight, start with $5 and increase it with time. Soon you will learn to live without it. Most people starting to save think they have to put 5-25% in a retirement account and they can't afford to do that, so they do nothing.

My son got paid well while AEP trained him as a lineman. When the training ended his pay doubled. He was living fine before the increase & I would have banked the increase for 2 years but it's not my call. I just believe in staying out of debt except for a house & pay that off as quick as you can. They don't call those cards MASTER cards for nothing. When we bought the farm in the UP we didn't go out to eat or any extras and paid it off in a year. If you pay a mortgage for 30 years you've paid over double for the house which is crazy
