    Selling plasma.

Lee, I don't know if your medication would disqualify you or not, but I can tell you that I have been diagnosed with type II diabetes and they have no problems with my donating plasma.

    Big Blue version 3.0

Damn VT! This build just keeps gettin more and more awesome! You're gonna have me remodeling my van once I get it back from the shop. I keep looking at yours and thinking, "I want one!" Your space utilization is so great! Functional has never looked so good!

    Something I'm considering...

Update:Well, I thought it would be less work up front. Didn't expect the previous owner to be such an unethical excuse for a person. He did a real good job of hiding some problems including the fact that it had very recently sat for years. I figured it had to have sat for awhile sometime to have...

    Trolley, anyone?

So pretty! I'd love to turn that into a Traveling Minstrel Trolley. Just totally forget about stealth a have it as a totally "In your face" beautiful quasi-Steampunk/Victorian show on wheels! Mount a pneumatic fold-out stage (with lots of brass fittings!) on the back! Have to develop an act...

    Inexpensive folding bike

I now have a Novara (REI store brand) Flyby folder. It's an awesome lightweight folder with a Nexus 7 internal gearing system. It's quick and smooth. I love it! Weighs 22 pounds and folds small enough that I can easily put it inside my van. My 29er was too big for that and I worried that someone...

New 2 the life w/Chevy SV2 camper van

Hey Darlene! Welcome! As you've already experienced, this forum is a great place to get advice and info. Being nomadic can be great fun. I'm looking forward to moving into my van as well. May the road treat you well!

What's the neatest job you've had the opportunity to do because you live a mobile lif

Me too, Caseyc. I've never lacked for neat jobs, though. When I was in my twenties, I did singing telegrams for a living. It was a blast to be paid to party with people. And getting paid to act like a fool in public is kinda fun too! My latest gig is helping to run a Medieval Summer Camp for a...

    Wonder what happened? Cool idea.

Yeah, that's a potentially revolutionary design. What happened to it?

    No Refrigeration Required.

I made a small Zeer pot when I was living in the bus years ago. It was remarkable how cool it got inside! Keep it shaded and it will amaze you! I'd forgotten about it. Gotta build one for the van.

    Getting rid of more possessions

Here in AZ, the heat and lack of humidity take a terrible toll on wooden instruments. Most are put together with animal-based (I.e. hide glues) adhesives. These have a tendency to soften in high heat. We actually have to use humidifiers (some are not much more than a damp sponge in the case!) to...

    Getting rid of more possessions

Good idea, Bdog! They like me enough, they might just do it! Especially since they have a nice new, HUGE campus. Still have to figure out how to keep the instruments cool while I'm not working at the school.

    Getting rid of more possessions

I'm in the process of purging to move into my van. This is familiar to me since I had to purge before to live in the bus years ago. Fortunately, I remember the lightness of being that I felt in divesting myself of all that stuff. In this case, I have a much smaller space and need to be more...

    Glamping - glamorous camping

Patrick, I like your, or should I say, your wife's take on "Glamping". I may have to develop my own style of Glamping, Rustic Geek! I think it'll certainly characterized by unpainted wood with geeky chotchkes festooned around. (Especially sci-fi stuff, though a few medieval things here and there...

    Glamping - glamorous camping

When I was hitting lots of SCA events, (Medieval re-creation) I used to have a 16-1/2 foot diameter green and gold knight's pavilion that was floored with oriental carpets and had a queen-sized bed and a couple of knock-down thrones and a fold up table in it I decorated it with lots of banners...

    Bike Home

Barry Howard is one of my heroes now. It is awesome what he does and how he does it. I adore his micro Gypsy caravan. I'd love to do something like what he does! Perhaps I can figure out something similar with busking with my harp and some of my other instruments. I'll have to give it some...

    My ambo...

Wow, Baloo! That is one beautiful rig! You mentioned needing a place to store your bike. If you mount an RV type ladder for access to your roof, there is a bike rack I've seen that mounts to the ladder. Just an idea. Another possibility is a receiver hitch bike rack. You've probably already...
