    1997 E150 code P074

I had a check engine code indicating the catalytic converter was bad.  Went online to message boards for owners who said the code could mean everything from a plugged up exhaust to a dirty air filter, contrary to what Nissan  said.  Cleaned the air filter first and cleared the code.  It came...

California $15 an hour minimum wage passed

Actually, $15 an hour will hurt the poor workers.  At that wage, 30 hours a week will remove them from the free medi-cal health program.  In insurance will cost more than the increase in wages

Seek WISDOM form those been there, done that

I had a code that said the same on my Nissan.  Fixed it by putting a large can of fuel injection cleaner in the tank and clearing the code so the light went off.

How do you keep gas in the tank & food in your belly?

At Home Depot here in California, you want a sales associate position ( not a cashier or lot tech, they pay less and the cashiers work very hard!).  Try to work in the Department with the most people working (in the store I was working in it was the garden department).  It sucks working in a...

    Dodge 318 belt squeal

Mine was on a 2005 Nissan Frontier.  The back of the tensoiner was open and the spring could be removed.  You could try to use spray grease and spray into the opening on the spring.  mine was not holding enough tension on the belt.

    Dodge 318 belt squeal

I had a belt that slipped and squealed when weather was damp. I finally solved it by removing the spring tensioner and greased it inside and reinstalling it. Solved the problem

Could Van Dwellers learn from this ?

I received a 20 year reunion invite from our neighbor down the street.  Nice lady but I hated high school.  I wrote "deceased" on the envelope and dropped it back in the mail!

I was in the rat race, and the rats won!

    A cautionary tale

The sad thing about this story is the home owner probably saved a future home owner from getting killed or broken into.  Every serial killer started out as a burglar.

    Sales Taxes in your area.

California may have a high sales tax but when you folks are camped close to the Colorado river in Arizona, Cali does not charge sales tax on groceries or meds (in my county anyway). Not sure about Arizona.

    Diabetic?

Grammakittycat, Did not know insulin was available over the counter.  Which state did you find this?  As a type one diabetic, I have to agree with your comment 100% LeeRevell, Do not stop taking the metformin!  This is a very good drug if you can overcome the upset belly (usually for less than...

    reflectix question

You might use a house dryer vent facing to the back.  You would need to connect a wire or cable to the flap in it to keep it closed and some screen on the grate inside

    Fast Food

Matt71, Have you ever been checked for diabetes?  French fries (potatos) are all fast digesting carbs (except for the fat).  Potatos and white rice will blow my blood sugar faster and higher than ice cream!

    Burying valuables on public land?

the book "how to hide things in public places" by Dennis firey(?) is a good read. His experience was most people do not see things they don't expect to see. He was dealing with an urban environment but found it was easy to hide things and have them not found.
