    Visible Party Pay

Visible (pre-pay service using verizon) just came out with Visible Party Pay. You can start a party, which is a group of up to 4 visible users. When 2 users exist in the group, the monthly price of the service is dropped from $40 to $35 for each user. 3 users in the group $30, 4 users $25. I...

    Cheap Lithium Batteries

I watched this video earlier today. Seems interesting...used 40 aH w/ 90% capacity for $150 each.  I read about them before, but this guy bought some and did a capacity test. I also came across 12v 100aH batteries out of China for $265 each + shipping. I can get up to 500 kg (30 batteries)...

    1999 Ford E450 RV w/ no body

I came across a 1999 E450 with 52K miles on it that use to be an RV. I assume it had water damage as the interior, walls, and roof are gone. The RV frame that mounts to the truck frame still exists. How crazy of an idea is it to buy it and build a body back onto it?

    Evaporative Cooler?

Anyone in the west where there is low humidity ever try an evaporative cooler? I came across this rooftop unit. https://www.turbokool.net/ I've always lived on the east coast, so no one uses them and never had any experience with them. I plan to move west in the near future, so I have been...

    Box Truck Rear Door

Most box trucks have a roll-up door that runs on a track along the roof of the box. It takes away from the height of a good 7 feet or so of the box and gets in the way of the build. You could remove it and install swing open doors. However, they seem like they would be kind of a pain to deal...

    Solar Panels Wider than Roof

Has anyone ever installed solar panels that were wider than your van roof? Ideally, I want to sell my van and get a box truck. However, the gassers get poor MPG. I could get a diesel Sprinter and they get decent mpg, but don't if I want to deal with a Sprinter.  I'm pretty much sold on getting...

    Battery Charger

Does anyone know of a charger that you can set up a custom charging profile? The only thing I have seen is the Victron multiplus inverter/chargers that let you input your own settings. You would think something exists but I have yet to find one.

    Nissan Leaf Batteries

I've been looking at Nissan Leaf lithium-ion batteries. You can't wire them into a 12v bank, but you can do them in 48v. Which you can get a 48v inverter, solar panels, controller, etc... The cost is a fraction of the price compared to buying $1K 100 aH 12v LI batteries. Anyone doing this?

    Indel B 12v Air Conditioners

I didn't realize this, but Indel B makes several 12v AC units. Scroll down about 60% and look for where it says Sleeping Well. http://www.indelb.com/media/files/513_It-En-De-Indel-B-Automotive-Brochure.pdf Looks like they are adjustable from 2240 BTU - 3250 BTU and says they pull 15 aH - 29...

    Inverter Efficency Question

I recently read that if you have an inverter that is say 90% efficient, that it is really only that efficient when you pull wattage that is upward of the maximum that the inverter can produce. If you are pulling only a small amount of the maximum wattage, then the efficiency will be...

    Box Truck MPG

Anyone have a 14-16 ft box truck / what MPG are you getting. I read on uhaul (ford) that they get 6-10. On Penske (chevy) they stated 8-12. I was planning on a chevy express cutaway (14-15 box), most are 6.0L gas. But not if the MPG is that low. I watched a video on YT of a chick that has an...

    LTVA - Black Tank Question

I have read that LTVA's require you to have a black tank over 10 gallons. I know that this is dependant on where at the LTVA you park. To those of you that have stayed at one and have a black tank.  Do they just look and verify that you have a black tank? The reason I ask is, what if you...

    80/20 Extruded Aluminum Cabinets.

Came across this youtube channel and the guy built some nice cabinets out of 80/20 extruded aluminum. He has a bunch of video on how to do it and thought it may be of interest to others. https://www.youtube.com/user/asimba2/videos

    Oil Light On

I've found a really good deal on a chevy express box truck. It's a 2004 w/ 6.0 engine,  81K miles on it. It's not local and I haven't been to see it yet. Gotten pics/videos from the owner. The oil light is on and shows 40 PSI when started/cold. I would have thought it would have been higher...

Box truck rear roll up door conversion?

Has anyone converted a box truck roll up door to swingout doors? I'm seriously thinking of getting one in place of my van. I bought the van because of the stealth aspect, which I could care less about now. Most have a roll up door and that's not going to work for me. It takes away too much of...

WIFI Hotspot App for Android Phone

Straight Talk (Verizon) blocked me from being able to use my available data with the hotspot function in my phone the other day. Which I had been using it for 8 months. To get around it, I installed an app on my phone called PdaNet. You can find it in the google play store. You also have to...

    Straight Talk Blocked Hotspot Usage

I've had Straight Talk (Verizon) for 8 months and never had a problem using my phone (LG stylo 3) as a hotspot until now. I went to use it the other day and could turn the hotspot on and connect my laptop to it, but my laptop had no internet. I called support and they said you can't use it as...

    Inverter Power Consumption

I've been planning on buying an Aims Power 2000w inverter/charger $647 I just read an article that said it uses 5 amps just to be on. So I assume that means if I was to run a device for 12 hours. It will use 60 (5x12) amps from the batteries (just to be on) plus whatever amps are needed to run...

    Generator Question

So I purchased the Energizer EZV2000P.  2000w peak / 1600w continuous. It has an eco mode which basically drops the RPM down and brings it up based on the load needed. Runtime is listed as 11.5 hours at 25% load (400 watts). I'm wondering when eco mode is on if the lower RPM level it runs at...
