Change in policy at Quechan casino

What dentist/clinic did you use? That's a great deal. Thanks for the update and info. J

    Grass & Guns

My wife and I have Oregon Medical cards.  I don't remember any question re. guns on the application.  And I own one. We just went to the State Fair in Salem to see if the reports of a cannabis display were true. They were very true.  Nothing for sale but the greenhouses. Blue and red ribbons...

Ford's new towing assist for those who can't back up

I bought 4 cheap flashlights from Wmart.  Dollar each. Orange colored for daytime. Two on each side of ground to line up for night backing. Works well.

Some of my favorite places around San Diego (picture heavy!)

What great info! We have been hoping to find places like you have posted to bring winter relief from the long, damp, wet winters in the Pacific Northwest. Can't wait to try them out. RealSpur

Fantastic Vent install on curved fiberglass high-top?

The frame of the fan is plastic and has some give.  The curve on my fiberglass conversion van top created less than a 1/4 inch bend. Have had no leaks or operating problems. realspur62

remove interior walls for more space

I have decided to keep the "hollow" walls of my 1996 Ford conversion van.  I plan on cutting some holes or large openings and filling as best I can with some type of insulation. Then glue the cutouts back in place or cover some other way.

    Terrorism in Oregon

Exactly.  What if someone wanted to run a thousand sheep or hogs on the same public land as the Bundy's?  According to their way of thinking government regulation is only interfering with everyone's "freedom"!  They are really anarchists and thugs who want to control the land for themselves as...

    Waterless Bath and Shave

No Rinse is also available at Walgreens in the Senior Citizen section. (Where I shop!) Works great.

    How important is AWD?

With the variety of driving you describe I suggest a Subaru Forrester. Room to sleep, roof rack. Pretty good mileage. AWD if you need it, which imo would be in mud, snow or sand. Read all you can re. mechanical issues in older ones. I am daily driving a 1999 with 209,000 miles. Did great in...

    On the road

"No Rinse" shampoo is great for hair. No water necessary. Found in the "Senior" section of products in pharmacies like Wgreens.

    Boondocking along columbia river

I never have, but I am sure it  is done. Mt. Hood climbers go year round and must take off at 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. It would be impossible to have security or LEO's clear out the parking lot. Vehicle pass is required in the winter months, but is good for the season at all the ski areas. I...

    Boondocking along columbia river

Spending the night is allowed in the large Timberline Lodge parking lot on Mt. Hood. So many backpackers and mountain climbers use it that their are no rules against it. Beautiful views.

VAN for a long trip to C. / S. America

IMO a good choice van for you would be a Ford Aerostar Extended 4WD. The last year they made them was 1997 and they are not a true 4wd. Just a good front wheel, awd with automatic 4WD. I had one and am looking for another well cared for used. Drove on plenty of ice and snow without chains with...

    Survivor Van

Wow! You guys are the same ages as my first wife and I when we got married! (1971) My hair was about that long, too! Wish we had gotten along as well as you two seem to be. We bought a 1996 Aerostar van when our kids were teens. Also in Oregon, we made many snow trips up Mt. Hood and the...

YouTube videos by Don on van living

Don drives a casino charter bus. 3 days a week. 12-14 hours each. Haven't seen him in a year, but we work for the same company and I know he is doing well. I have told him about this site many times. He is socialble when he wants to be. No more. No less. Many members on this site can relate. His...

I THREW MY PORTA POTTY IN THE DUMPSTER

How do you plan to get rid of the shower water? A single pan like that may be awkward to empty without bending/folding. Small "sump pump" into a container? Or something more permanent? RS

Water leak fixed, first night in the van. Plus: Conflicted about job opportunity.

Concretebox, Sympathize with your predicament. Lots of part and/or full-time jobs in larger metro areas of Oregon and Washington. Cost of becoming a certified patient after state fees, med. exam, etc. is about $400. High *** works best for my wife's degenerated discs, stenosis, scoliosis=chronic...

Cargo Van vs Pick Up with Cargo Trailer

You can go more remote places with the 4x4. Especially in the desert or muddy terrain, if you use the 4x4 properly. Just put a small camper in the bed. The van (which is what I have) is better for "stealth". But, how important is that going to be? If you choose a van, I will trade you mine!

    Still cheap and good

There is a gas station in Southern, Oregon (Ashland?) that will sell gas for 20 cents a gallon. The only "catch" is that you must pay with silver dimes.
