Dean has hit a pole and broke the axle on his trailer and is at the Buckeye, Arizona Walmart. He called to see if there was anyone near for assistance. That's all the info and details I have.

If there are any members who can talk him through what to do/call or provide assistance please call him at 816-745-3800.

I am on the other side of Phoenix, but I have commitments tomorrow and little knowhow about trailers. Saturday I can help. I feel bad because I recommended that ace to him. At least it is free camping with no time limit while he works it out.

Buckeye can be a bit "out of the zone" for major repairs, hopefully, the above will accommodate. If not, try one below.

A bit closer, however, may not be a "mobile" service....if they have to come to you. Their business is approximately 20 miles away.

I have to wonder if the axle is actually broken, or if it has simply been knocked off the spring perch? Can he take pictures of the damage and somehow get them posted here?

Im about 45 miles away near Wickenburg. Very spotty phone service. I can help if he still needs it. PM here if I can do anything.

Im about 45 miles away. I dont have service on the phone, so cant call. Jetpack works so I can get a pm here. Pictures or what exactly is broken would be helpful. I can help right away, but need to know more info on the damage.

It's not broken but bent. He's going to try to text me a photo if he can figure out how. His phone number is 8167453800 Dean

He sent me pics. Didnt break the axle, but bent the spindle and had to pull the fender off from rubbing the tire. I found a trailer parts/repair outfit close to him. $250 for a new drop axle and labor to fix it. He is headed there now.

It's just the greatest thing ever that when we get a member that needs help that within hours someone can help. Thanks so much Kmmech!!

And back when we advised Dean to carry a spare tire, we never thought to tell him to carry a spare axle!

HDR, you're slipping!

:p

I just talked to him.  I'm trying to steer here to staying in the general area of where his trailer is being fixed. Buckeye Hills Regional Park seems a good place to put a base for him right now.  Gave him the address and general directions.  I'm thinking he is still thinking like back East, and if he just looks he will find shade.  Not so much here, especially in Metro.  I may suggest heading up to the Rim for awhile once he is mobile again to find shade for a couple of weeks more.  I'll check with him later, and maybe go meet him tomorrow just for moral support.

I camped next to Kelly and Teresa for about 2 weeks.  They are that kind of people.  I'm proud to know them.
Kelly fixed my left turn signal AND secured my solar panel .  We got to watching out for each other's rigs.  And each other.

Like I said, great people.

I just talked to Dean, he is all fixed and rolling again. Said the shop did a great job and was reasonably priced. He seemed happy with what he had done. Im sure he will post later.

Dean is all fixed and doing great. Right now he's at a Loves truck stop at Lake Havasu and will be looking for a spot to spend a few days. If there is anyone around there give him a shout.
