A while back (within the last year or so).  Bob interviewed a a man who as I remember became a client of a food bank in Henderson NV (or thereabouts)
Once as a client he could use their address as his domicile.

I can't find this video now.  Either I'm not searching correctly for it, or it has been taken down?

thanks in advance.

Just Google "Nevada residency youtube Bob Wells"...

And viola.

thanks for responding.
I'm still not seeing the exact video I described above.

Here's one. If you google the above listed search about 20 videos pop up. Then you can have hours of fun clicking through them and learning all sorts of stuff. This one is about getting your mailing address, step one.

Thanks for responding, but I'm looking for an exact video. Not a video about getting Nevada residency.

The video was youtube CheapRVLiving Bob interviewing a man who had became a client of a food pantry and therefore could bypass the 30 days at an RV park requirement.

I have feeling the video no longer exists and has been pulled down.

Since I asked I did some reading and it appears you have to be low income to quality to be a client.

thanks.

Hmmmm, I know which video you're looking for. I can't find it now, even though Bob had me sort of semi-transcribe it and turn it into a future blog post. Here's the relevant part of what I wrote:

David knew a federal court had ruled homeless people couldn’t be denied voting rights and wondered if the ruling might carry over to driver’s licenses. After digging through layers of the Nevada DMV website he learned that if you become a client of a social services agency in the state you can become certified as a Nevada “resident without a home,” and that would serve as one of the proofs of residency.

David was in Laughlin, in the very southern tip of the state, and went to the DMV there. They were very helpful and printed out the necessary form for him. He could’ve taken his form to a governmental social services agency, but he googled social services in the area and decided to give Colorado River Food Bank a try. “They’re very hospitable people,” says David. “I asked them if they’d sign the form and they go, ‘Are you a client?’ I said no and they said, ‘Well, as soon as you sign up we can sign that form.’ So they signed me up, did not ask any means testing. They said, ‘Don’t put down homeless, put down houseless. And then they gave me a shopping basket full of food.”

The form requires you supply a physical address. David continues, “When I got [to the DMV in Laughlin] I’d left the address blank, and the DMV worker said, ‘And where are you staying?’ And I said, ‘About three miles down the road on BLM land.’ And he said, ‘I know where that is. There’s not a street address. Do you mind if I put in the street address of the Colorado River Bend State Park?’ So he put that in and I was willing to do it since I wasn’t the one swearing to it.”

“It was all state guidelines. I didn’t circumvent anything, I didn’t tell a fib, I told the truth at every step so it couldn’t come back on me.”

thanks so much. Yes that was the video.

I did some checking and the Colorado River food pantry has income eligibility requirements.  I'm sure I wouldn't meet them ,and I don't blame them.  If you can afford food,  you shouldn't be lining up for free vittles. However, my only goal would be residency not lunch.
thanks again!

Downside of not using a mail forwarder is that you will not get your mail. Like the drivers license DMV will mail you.

I used a work address in OR (park I worked at) and its only use was to get a PO Box in a nearby town. I still have first class mail that gets lost, even after doing change of address.

An attendee at a recent HOWA Caravan Connections Zoom meetup followed the directions on that video and went to the Colorado River Food Bank. He was told that they couldn't help him but they did suggest a few other places in Laughlin to try. He had no luck with those places and eventually went to Pahrump and rented an RV spot for a month.

I believe Bob took the video down for this reason. You can still try the food bank but don't go far out of your way because it might be a dead end.
