I'm kidding! I already put in my vacation request to go to Quartzsite. Yes, I have to put in a vacation request, cuz I'm still a wage slave. At least for the meanwhile. Hoping things will change for the better. Short of winning the lottery or landing a 6 figure job, I will probably go the full time van dwelling route to break out of this rut I'm in.

Silly question here. I read it gets windy in Quartzsite. Does this mean there will be dust storms? Does the wind kick up a lot of sand and dust?

I ordered a packet of this, will I need this every day?

Or is the above item not sufficient, and I should get the below instead? :D:dodgy:

This one looks a bit too zombie-ish and might scare the kids.

I'm bringing my shorts.
Hey katie just read your blog on your dog, you took my heart and wet my eyes.

Casey, I like the last one, the gas mask...that should do the trick.
Seriously tho, wind does kick up sometimes, if you think you need protection the el cheapo ones you find in the stores should be ok. I'm just coming off 1 1/2 yrs of oxygen therapy after a punctured lung and have severe COPD...on inhalers too. Sometimes I find a bandana helpful, but don't feel the need for respirators.

Do bring shorts, and a jacket too. Can get rather chilly at times. Even a knit hat feels good in the evenings around the campfire.

Yeah, a bandana sounds good! Will give me that cowboy look too! Maybe I should order a cowboy hat to complete the look! :)

BTW: I really did order the below face mask from Amazon. It's rated at N100, which is supposedly the most effective at stopping virtually all bad stuff. Most of the masks are rated at N95, but this one is full 100% protection.

The ear plugs on those masks might come in handy if you go to karaoke at Silly Al's.

Hats...plenty of them at vendors here and you can haggle prices too.

Karaoke? Cool, I think, haha. I like the 80s song "Tainted Love". After a beer or two, I might even be persuaded to indulge, haha!

Bring it on, Casey. I'm not getting up there....don't wanna empty the place.

Silly Al's was fun the other night and the prices weren't bad. We had a medium pizza that did the trick for us. 3 tap beers for me and soda for Margie was a shade over 20 bucks. They have good happy hours too.
About 4 blocks from where we are, so its close enough to stumble home.
I usually do a couple shots of tequila before we go out so I get to "feelin right" without spending too much.

Pizza, beer, karaoke plus happy hour too?!? Only 4 blocks walking distance back to base camp?
Now you guys know where to find me!!! Let's make it a group trip!

Thanks, I replied back to you. So when RTR begins, will you stay in your same spot or will you move closer to where every one will be?

We're working as camp hosts...3 days on, 6 off. We'll go out to the RTR camp at some point tho. Can't resist meeting all the good peeps from this site.

We're a day away. I can't wait. I'm totally up for some karaoke if anyone wants to make a group thing of it some day. :)

I will not be held responsible for my first night going from sea level to high dessert.

Hey..anyone up for a capella karaoke at RTR?? Put on headphones and sing along with your favorite song...NOBODY sounds good or doesn't have a preferred misspeak or two...I'll even go first because this act is just wayyy to funny to miss! *laugh* Also, doesn't need much power and people give it up better in the dark...

And, I have a Quartzsite question? How big is the town, physically? I have about a five mile range on my small electric, could I get about town and see stuff? My knees can't wander very far some days...
