Been watching Lidia Bastianich on PBS and learned a couple of simple tricks to make very basic food taste better.
http://www.pbs.org/food/chefs/lidia-bastianich/
Made scrambled eggs with veggies this morning, and like always I start cooking the peppers and onions first for a bit. Lidia says to season the veggies while cooking them instead of my old standby of seasoning once the egg mixture is added to the veggies. So I put in my usual amount of salt/pepper/garlic to the cooking onion and peppers mixture, stirred it and let it cook a minute then added the mushrooms. The finished product ended up tasting 100% better than my usual!!
If you've got the interest and the bandwidth, check out her stuff, she makes some amazing food using very simple ingredients.
Thought I'd share the tip, best eggs I've eaten in years!!
