Is two days enough? Aren't you insulating the van, building shelves...?

I'm using a magic wand :D

Right now we're taking a little vaca break after working our butts off the past several days. We want to put a few miles on the van to see if there's anything we need to spend money on before beginning the interior.
For the time being, we have things arranged so we can sleep and are able to get the things we need daily. Bisbee, Az is my old stomping ground, so I wanna catch up with a few more old friends here.
We'll get going on the build in a week or so.
Here's a short vid on the van (pardon the wind, it was blowing like crazy this morning.)

The van's lookin' good there, Jay. I'm glad that you were able to keep your good mattress. That is a very important item! I know that you and Margie will have it fixed up the way you want it in no time!

Enjoy your time off from work!

A comfortable place to sleep and someone you enjoy beside you. Who could ask for more.

Jo...I think Bindi is the one who's happiest with keeping the mattress :D

Thanks Patrick. We're proud to have it, and it sure seems to be a good runner.

DD...Yeah, it is sorta nice to have someone to snuggle with. But I think I find as much joy in sharing the travels and all the cool things we get to do together.

We're having a hoot :D

LOL the Bisbee Breeze doin' its thing! The van looks sweet! Lots of potential there! Can't wait to see what y'all do with it!

something to love, something to do and something to hope for, sounds like you got them all, how to be happy, congratulations on the big change, I have been following the transition wondering how it was all going to turn out, a bit worried if it was the right decision, that was a lot of comfort to trade off, sounds like it worked out, glad to hear you are enjoying it.

Congrats you guys on your next adventure. I was wondering the same thing as flying kurbmaster2, what the transition would be after being in a MH for so long. I am still leaning towards a TT for starters just because of creature comforts, dont want to shock my system too much right off the bat. Im excited for you guys and cant wait to hear and see more of your build!
Take care,
Roger

You will love the smaller size and improved MPG. I am happy for youall, What more do you need ? a bed cooking stuff and mini storage. Hope to see you on the road. Good luck with the build I'm still modular nothing done permanent until I'm sure it works . 3ft storage under a 30" wide bed Dometic chest freezer to make ice for the yeti
cooler chest and a huge solar panel with 2 x 6 volt agm batts. Rear half still full of flea junk, tables and such. I am solo so it seems like a palace Haha.

Back in my younger days, I lived in a semi truck for 3+ years. I LOVED it...I got paid to see America!

The one thing I hated was that I had noone to share it with.
I got a dog, and he was a great listener...but he wasn't much for conversation! ;)

But I had noone to share the sunsets with, and the mountains, and oceans, and the river valleys, and the awesome bridges (I like bridges...don't ask me), and just the people I'd see everywhere. It's just nice having someone to talk to and bounce ideas off of too.

It makes all the differrence in the world to share the experience...so good for the lot of yas!! :D

Another old Dodge on the road! Many of us out there. Good luck in your travels.

Bindi is quite the talker sometimes. She sorta "chortles" and makes odd sounds, but at times her bark is very outspoken. She's one of those 12 # dogs that thinks she's a 50 #er.
Spoiled rotten, and Margie blames it on me :D

Not to hijack your thread...but...what are the winters like in the Bisbee/Sierra Vista area. I've been thinking of looking for a little piece of dirt in that area.

Congrats on the trade! Looks like you got a good solid van to work with; and roomy! WOW!

I like it:D
Also, I can relate to all the stuff. I was moving out of the van into the bus tonite. I can't believe how much stuff I had hidden in that van

To nite will be the first night in the bus for me. Check my thread for a n upcoming pic. Have a good few days off;)

Lugh...It was kinda cool and windy yesterday. Pulled the extra blanket over us last night. Warm and nice today...expect warmer tonight.
We walked around where you had your business and I showed Margie the purple glass (basement skylights) on the sidewalk.
She's amazed at many sets of stairs around town :D

Ken....Bisbee says they have the best year 'round weather in the nation. It about 10-15 degrees cooler than Tucson. At 5300' it does get a flutter of snow once in a while in winter, but pretty moderate overall. Cool people and very eclectic.
Sierra Vista is cooler than Tucson by maybe 10 degrees. Can't say too much about it otherwise.

Kurbmaster, Roger, Wagoneer, Slow2Day, Simran, and everyone else....Thanks for keeping up with us. We may be slow to start, but its summer and we plan to enjoy some of it. I can assure y'all that we'll darn sure be ready for that first cold night tho.

Hey Jay,
What surprised me most was the diversity of the purple glass. The rectangular ones tend to be kind of prism-shaped underneath. The square ones, which you tend to see in front of some of the shops going down the main drag, tend to be inverted pyramids. (i.e. the square is the "base" of the pyramid, with the "point" pointing down.) If I remember right, the rarest are round. These are cylinders, sometimes domed, and I don't remember exactly where they are. I think they are tucked away somewhere obscure. Bisbee is such a great place for oddities!

Lugh

:)

Lugh...correct, the round ones are more rare. Similar glass prisms are found in other cities/towns, but they are clear, at least in places I've been. I think Bisbee is the only place I've seen purple.

For our readers, this is what we're talking about....

C'mon now...you and I both know who's got the best weather in the nation.

YES...it can get a bit wet at times, but overall, if moderate weather is what you're after, we've got those clowns beat hands down!! :D

Interesting bit on those sidewalk purple prisms. Wonder why they did that?
