Has anyone purchased a converted cargo trailer from Weeroll?  www.runaboutcampers.com

I've requested information online but haven't gotten a response.  I haven't tried to call them yet.  Their "Classic" is 5' x 8' and 5.5' tall. I'm 5'4" so it allows me to stand but that's not much extra head room.  Length and width about the same as the back of a van, perhaps a little longer.  I nixed the van idea because it felt too small but I had not been in any with a high top.  I'm thinking this might feel too small to me, too.

I had the same problem with a micro camper company I contacted, they never responded
Personally, I think 5x8 will be too small, a van's interior is actually bigger than that

I have never seen one but there are several things I like about the construction techniques. however they also use a bunch of fancy gimmicks with their advertising. kinda makes me wonder why? highdesertranger

at 5'4" you might be fine in a "TV Top" van that comes on conversions. Perhaps someone with a top like that can chime in with exact interior height on those.

The medium roof Ford Transit cargo vans are 6'0" tall inside, which would be something like 5'9 with floor and insulation. That'd be nice and roomy if used prices are coming down yet.

Thanks but I already researched and discarded the van idea.  Transit cargo vans were out of my price range to purchase and convert.  I got a good used SUV and I'll be getting a TT.  But my "handy guy" is wanting to get a trailer base and build me an RV.  I'm not sold on that.  Worried about registering, licensing, insuring and wondering just how good he is to build me something that won't fall apart on the road.

Wee is on facebook I have actually exchanged comments with someone associated when I asked a question. They do a post of every trailer they build. It's a small company so the guy who should be answering your email is in the shop welding a new trailer! Keep trying. I like the open slate when you buy one like this. You can build it however you plan. Their most expensive trailer is less than 5K. Custom built.

I have recently purchased a WeeRoll. Tom who owns WeeRoll doesn't actually buld the trailers himself. The steel framed trailers are built to his specifications at aTrailer manufacturer in Georgia. From what Tom has posted on Facebook the new aluminum trailer his is offering is built localy in the Ocala Florida area.

With that being said, I always found Tom to respond quickly to any of my Facebook messages before I purchased my trailer. He has also been helpful with any questions I had after receiving my trailer.

I thought about converting a cargo trailer and bought a 22' toy hauler trailer. I needed more weight capacity than you do, (have tools motorcycles, ATV), so I went tandem. My cost for used was $9k. That size empty cargo wasn't much less.

I figured once I bought the cargo and put the things in it to make it comfortable I was over the cost of a used trailer that already had everything in it. Price out stoves, microwaves, water heaters, furnace, refrigerators, battery chargers, light fixtures, windows, air conditioners, RV furniture, and the cost of a cargo trailer.

If you are happy with a cot, cooler and a couple of buckets, then cargo is a low budget way to go. And no I didn't have a bunch of cash. I bought through a dealership. They got me a credit union loan and my payments are about $120 a month, (within my budget).

Shop for quality construction. Mine has aluminium framing and fiberglass panels.

i have gone to get my weeroll air camp 2 weeks ago and i am VERY HAPPY with it ,its 1080 lbs 6 x 10 x 6 all aluminium but we chose wood on the inside so we could paint it and tile the ceiling etc . We are very happy with it and i am not sure but i think we are the first ones to have a weeroll in Wisconsin ,We have had 3 people come last weekend to see it and then they all called in and ordered one from Tom ,they loved the way its welded and very strongly built .I have been a welder for over 20 years and i can tell you it is welded strong..it aint gonna break !

I like the premise of the WeeRoll trailers, and looked at their website just the other day. I'm much more of a DIY guy that needs a little bit more room than they offer. My new plan is to convert a 16x8.5 tandem axle cargo trailer for comfort, (budget not a concern), and hauling my enduro motorcycle, to be pulled behind my diesel Excursion, so weight isn't really a consideration.

The WeeRoll trailers are in the 1200# range, while the 16x8.5 is closer to 2800 empty. This is still FAR lighter than the 34' Heartland I am currently pulling at 9000#.

I toured their facility last year and liked many things I saw!

I left with the feeling that he was on to a good thing and if he continued to develop his concept it would become something I’d be interested in!

I believe it is likely he was over promising his customers and being distracted by some projects not likely to go anywhere at the time so I decided to just watch from the sidelines for a year or two!

Aye, I think so. Like the OP, my requests for info and pricing were also ignored by weeroll, this was a few months ago. It would appear their response to increased demand is not to expand production, but to simply charge more for existing production. Which is fair enough, but not what I was looking for. All things considered, an enclosed cargo trailer off craigslist is very likely to be a superior decision to a weeroll in almost every way, apart from the "structural bragging rights."

To me the sweet spot would be around a 6.5' width to allow for 6' interior with insulation and at least 12' on the length.
Shopping utility trailers I've noticed that additional length adds almost nothing to the price. 12' is much easier to maneuver in tight spots tho.

If you buy a trailer that is wider than your tow vehicle, you will need some sort of outside rear view mirror extension to see around the trailer.

Most 3/4 ton trucks/SUVs/vans already have the telescoping tow mirrors for visibility around large objects in your mirror.
