Pack up all the dishes
Make note of all good wishes
Say good-bye to the landlord for me
Sons of &$#%@^( always bore me
Throw out that L.A. paper
Moldy box of vanilla wafers
Adios to all this concrete
Gonna get me some dirt road back street
If I could just get off of that L.A. freeway...........

In a couple days I will be able to head north. Seeing the ocean and smelling the salt air was a real boost.

GotSmart, When i drove the PCH (hwy. 1) many moons ago that for me was one of my best times ever. When you reach Cape Mendocino you will be @ the furthest point West in the lower 48 states. That was so great!
You stay safe on your trip and we'll leave the light on for 'ya.

I grew up in N. CA and have driven parts of Hwy 1. This time I will hit most of it, and be visiting friends, including in Mendo. Once I hit N. Washington, I might just turn around and go south on 1!

I am staying with my Sister in San Pedro CA. I can see the ships on the bay from her front door. The cargo ship I am trying to post has about 3 train loads of containers on the deck alone. The Catalina commuter ferry next to it looks small in comparison.

I will wander here for a few more days and then start North from Redando Beach. (1 mile away)

I have family up there, so it should take me a week or three to go through Oregon.

I am currently in Lake County CA.

I have a couple jobs lined up... Family is keeping me busy.

This weekend will be spent in the Napa Valley visiting old friends, and playing tourist.

It is getting easier to set things up without the huge load of "things" I delivered.

Must be a shipment of solar panels...

I love this life!

Yesterday I made custom shirts for a "Splash In" with more festivals to come. The perfect excuse to tramp around and get to see new and exciting things. Three Amphicars were there. Being a vendor, I was able to sleep in front of the "NO CAMPING ALLOWED" sign.

One thing is sure, I want to be out of the woods during the upcoming "harvest season" up here.

Not that type of splash in. Seaplanes, not wet t~shirt contest.

That does give me an idea for Bike Week...

Two weeks left and I am back on the road. I am buying parts and loading up on supplies. The roof rack and fans shipped today.

One thing I learned was that is is dangerous to use too much plastic for water storage if the van gets hot. The plastic leaches chemicals into the water. I will be using either Stainless Steel or glass as a storage medium. Plastic to transport water in.

Does anyone recommend a great water filter system?

You mentioned t-shirts. What business are you in, if you don't mind me asking? If you do, no worries, but I am planning my own odyssey and am trying to come up with ways to make a little money as I travel.

I am helping my brother get ready to move. One of his "hobby" businesses is a T~Shirt and trophy company. Today I had to travel 200 miles in a car to pick up 2 cartridges of ink, and a catch cartridge. ($225) The unit uses 5, but he had the others. The paper costs $2 a sheet, and the presses are also costly. All in all, he is willing to sell out immediately at cost of inventory. He has a lot of shirts.

Tomorrow is the car show, and he has made up a lot of plaques and trophies to be given away. We will be bringing enough stuff to make up about 250 shirts. Just go to the computer, photoshop the shirt, and print it up on the extremely expensive printer using special ink and costly paper. Then it gets transferred on the shirt from inventory and sold to the customer at 3 times cost+++. You make the real money by transferring a picture from the customers phone onto a shirt, or taking a picture of their classic car and putting it on a polo shirt.

We sold 80 shirts at the last place.

You can make a lot of money, but it costs a lot to get into it. You would need a trailer to haul the inventory and equipment.

Work is making me trapped!

JUST KIDDING. I am having the time of my life.

I see my EX for a social visit every few days. (We do have kids in common) I am getting side jobs, and putting money into my living necessities.

I just installed a roof rack, overload springs, and installed a fan in my fantastic vent, as well as buying a two burner stove. Next month is the heater and a bunch of tools for the upcoming job. I hope to be able to buy panels and a controller from that one.

I am able to work when I want, :shy: and for who I want. :D I could be trapped in a much worse place then The Emerald Triangle right before Halloween. ;) I wonder if I will be invited to another 2 day event. The last one had two live bands. It is starting to get a little chill in the morning air. I still have to get to Washington before too long. Then I can head South for the winter.

3,600 miles so far on the run.

Sounds great! Enjoy yourself!

4300 miles. I am finally out of California, into the land of fog and ducks. (Oregon)

I will be visiting family for a day or two, and then heading to Washington. Then back South.

I ordered a new steering gear for my van from Rock Auto. I will be glad to get that in and stop the wander when big trucks go by.
