You can not run that heater without venting the fumes outside and the exhaust gets very hot.

I also enjoy the sound of the fuel pump. And I always wondered about these "temporary mobile heaters". You still need to run air intake and exhaust pipes. Maybe you can install some bulkhead fitting with some sort of quick disconnect? It almost seems like these are just an all in one unit that still gets permanently mounted.
I like the idea of a quick disconnect. Or just a board with hole cut outs to run the pipes through and would block the open area of the window or whatever. I do have the two access panels on the floor (by battery under driver seat, and in rear) that go directly outside so could rig something up with those. Just need to get some extension hoses. Right?
This way I can figure it out and how best to use it, or if it won’t work for me before I invest too much or head out for good and get stuck on the road with a system I’m unhappy with.

I was just surprised it was with Home Depot. I like the idea that I could go to a store from where I purchased when on the road. If they have a warranty or get a refund or parts or something. Rather than some eBay seller.

You can not run that heater without venting the fumes outside.... please understand.
Yes, I understand … thank you for pointing that out to me, as it keeps it in the forefront of my mind. And I do need to make sure that even if temporary that it’s vented correctly, and not just flinging it out there without taking care. That it does need to be vented and not just because it smells … but for health safety. Things happen when we become too laxadaisy about things and think … oh it’s no big deal.
thank you For caring. I appreciate it.

My observations based on having 3 heaters..the all in one really limit you in some ways..the fuel tank is much smaller, the length of wire to the controller is much shorter and the filter for fuel..well almost none existent....I got a all in one free because it quit working, fixed it took the all in one stuff and threw that out put a bigger 5 Gallon fuel can and works great...it was a 5K model there is no 8 k..Yes they sell it as such but it is a 5K..REALLY! I put it in a van build and since I knew it would be too much heat I put in a thermostatically controlled roof vent for 140 Bucks, the heater runs all the tim so low on electric consumption and when it is too warm the vent fan kicks on all by itself to regulate the temp in van

Yea, I think this Vevor unit will work great for you! It's difficult to get items where you live, and having Home Depot stock it locally is a good sign! Too bad these all in one units don't have a built in battery. It's a cheap Chinese unit, just be careful. Just need to find a way to vent it safely and you'll be good to stay warm while you work. Down the line, if you upgrade to a more permanent system, I'm sure you could sell this Vevor unit.

I did not know that HD sells these. I looked on ebay and there's not even much of a price difference. I might have to get one for my "cramper".

What do you mean the heater runs all the time? I'd like to understand how you use it and what the exterior temperatures are.

These heaters have two modes, thermostat and Hz. Both modes start the heater by testing that the fan turns, heating a glow plug to red hot then turning on the fuel pump to ignite the diesel. Once burning the glow plug is turned off, the fan is ramped up to high where it stays for a couple minutes until it gets to full heat.

In thermostat mode it will stay on high until the set temperature is reached according to the sensor on the controller switch. At that point is ramps down to low until the thermostat drops below the set point where it rams back up. It does not turn off but just cycles between low and high as needed.

In Hz mode you manually set the number of pulses per second of the fuel pump. The range is usually about 1.4 to 5.5 pulses per second. Each pulse pumps .022 ml (depending on the particular pump) into the heater. The fan automatically adjusts it's speed to match the heat being produced. It stays at whatever setting you set until you turn it off manually, or by the timer function, or when it runs out of fuel.

When turned off the heater goes through the shut down cycle which turns off the fuel pump, turns on the glow plug to burn off any left over fuel, then turns off the glow plug and ramps up the fan to cool off then heater. Once cooled off it shuts down completely except for the controller which goes into stand by mode.

I figured that out too early on. Once running it has little effect on the battery.
In fact, I think they should incorporate a sort of alternator and use this to also keep batteries up like at night... just my thinking.

Well, here it is. English instructions and all… and if I have any issues I have a direct contact name in the UK to call. Have never seen a box stamp like that.

Idk what I was thinking before.. I don’t need to have the unit IN the van, I can just pipe in the hot air. Duh! I can have a quick attach to an existing opening, battery or rear access. The unit can be outside so none of the venting issues.
