^ made me laugh.
I think it becomes less important the smaller the abode is, I have never bumped my head in my low top van and having only a 2x6' area of open space(where the dogs sleep so it's not really "open") I don't see making my van 2 feet taller doing much good, knowing me it would be worse because I would have floor to ceiling storage and not be able to reach the higher items without standing up which even at my age is not an easy task. While with my low top I can reach almost everything except my pantry while sitting in my bed.
Now a dodge maxi is another story. Those things are too big to not have enough height to walk, for me atleast. I have bumped my head in RVs with 6'+ ceilings but not full height doors, apparently that's even a problem for full timers as I've see more than a few where they had to add padding, so if I was to have standing height inside I would also want full height doors too like a sprinter.
