Woo hoo Ravella! Congratulations on the freedom!!!

I don't try to convince anyone to get the shot since it isn't usually a productive path to go down. However I will relate a similar personal experience to others interested to know why I got the shot.

About 25 years ago I contracted some mysterious respiratory disease that nearly killed me. I saw a few doctors but none knew how to stop the symptoms. So every single day for nearly 8 months I had to go through coughing fits several times per day. The fits gave no warning it was about to happen. Suddenly I would cough until all air was out of my lungs and that's when my throat would literally clamp shut leaving me no air. It would stay shut for about 20 - 30 seconds and then a tiny opening would allow me to breath a very small amount of air in (it sounded like a hollow whistle). Just when I got the tiny amount of air I would cough it out and again the throat would clamp shut. This would continue typically for 5 minutes or so leaving me nearly unconscious. I imagine it was similar to being waterboarded over and over and over again.

Also part of all this was the coughing was so violent that I suffered from many, many pulled muscles in my rib cage, stomach, and back. This also added to the displeasure as each fit would feature all those muscles screaming in pain. I remember one time in particular that a fit left me unable to walk due to back muscles having been pulled so badly. Some coughing fits would make me vomit because of the severity. Finally, there was also a psychological factor involved...I lived alone at that time so as I was having fits and nearly going unconscious I never knew if I would faint and not be able to force some air into my lungs. I was lucky no one found me dead on the floor.

So when this C19 came around you might imagine I was getting that shot ASAP. Even though it isn't my business to tell anyone what to do I hope if they choose not to get the shot they stay safe from it otherwise.

I haven't had a shot since early sixties.

That's probably why you never contracted polio, diptheria, tetanus, etc.

Anyone can go online to vaccine finder.org and you will have an appt in no time.

The last huge pandemic was the one that started in Kansas in 1918.  They didn't have a treatment.  They didn't have a vaccine.  They just put more and more soldiers on trains and ships and sent them to Europe.  Best estimates are that somewhere between 50 and 100 million people died.  I got my first shot.  I'll get the next one soon.  Even after that I'm going to do like the sign says for a while.

Getting vaccinated has made me feel so much better knowing the odds are I won't be the one that makes my older unwilling friends sick.

Vanman...

I've had bad lung problems for many years, until I got on an herb that has solved my lung issues.

I haven't had a cough, cold, flu or a virus since.
