Towing Insurance

I have a 27 ft Step Van and if I break down its gonna cost a fortune to Tow. I called Good Sam and they said I could buy Insurance for towing and that its free as long as you pay the 70 dollar yearly membership. questions that I have are 1. Do they actually tow you for free or is that a pipe dream? 2. Who do you use and who do you think I should go with?   Travel is Florida to Wisconsin mainly.  Thanks in advance!

As James said, AAA - I have had it for years, can get a tow 4 times a year and up to 100 miles per tow, non RV...... it's worth checking (1-800-222-1134 / AAA.com).
