So today I wanted to see how much water I use for a typical home shower. So I timed it with my cellphones stopwatch, and I was done right on 1min and 30seconds.

Then I took an empty 5 gallon bucket, and ran the shower head in to it for 1min and 30seconds.

This is how much water I used in a normal home shower. Its just a tad bit over half the buket, so I am assuming 2.5 gallons of water.
So 5 days of showering like a king is about 12.5 gallons.

How much shower water do you guys carry with you?

We have a 40 gallon tank in our RV. It lasts the two of us about five days which includes using the toilet , cooking ,dish washing , drinking and cleaning. We probably use about the same amount of water per shower as you do but I know other people use a lot less - spray bottles and sponge baths ,etc.so there are ways to conserve even more if you need to.

I takes me about 3 gallons and a couple of minutes to do a shower. Due to the limited space in my van, I just use the black bag type shower. It works fine much of the time. During the cold months, I was hitting Anytime Fitness, using gas station bathrooms, and the good old baby wipes as a backup. (It's easier in the city that way)

A 40 gallon tank like Tony and Karen have would be nice! For now, the needs haven't driven anything larger than the plastic bag thingy... Maybe some day when longer trips occur.

VT

If i'm actually taking a shower, I do it with under 1 gallon of water <grin> have a 1 gallon flower sprinkler that I hang up in a tree and tip over me. works great and doesnt use alot of water. Usually I just use a small spray bottle
