I will receive 1213.00 a month; she also said maybe I should wait another year to earn another $100.00 a month. I don't think so, I've started the payments and when I reach the "allowed" 16,000.00 a year, I will be off. I figure by the end of May. :)

$1,213 times 12 months is $14,556. If you wait for the extra $100 a month, it will take you 145.5 months, (14556 / 100),  to recoup the money that you didn't get during the previous year. That's about 12 years.

Thanks DannyB for putting that in perspective. It seems the amount will be less than first anticipated, making this venture a bit more difficult especially with a payment on the rig. Ah well, who said, "Where there's a will there's a way.?"

Do you guys have any feedback on a Rialta Class B; it has high miles (102,000!) but the body style and layout is pretty doable (off road tires he says); also Chinook? Lower miles but that awful rear entrance and lower gas mileage than the Rialta. I'd prefer a Pleasure Way but finding one in my price range that still actually runs is tough. Anyway, thanks in advance.

Hi,

I love my Rialta but don't live in it full time.  Be very careful of the tires.  It's a really heavy rig for just 4 tires, and the load rating is very high.  I'd be concerned about anyone who suggested off-road tires for one.  :)

The high mileage wouldn't worry me, though.

Best,

Robin

Thanks Robin, for the feedback. I would typically never consider any vehicle with that many miles and the price is pretty high I think but I REALLY like the floor plan of the Rialta and 22 mpg suits me; holding tanks are small (I don't care) and generator problems reported. What is load rating please? ( I am a novice)

Load rating of the tires
Big heavy vehicles need thick heavy duty tires, with a specified load rating, put tire off a 1/2 ton pickup on an 18 wheeler (if such a thing was possible) and they'd likely blow out the minute you took it off the lift
on a big heavy motorhome, 4 tires is going to mean they have to be very heavy duty, the 'off road' tires might not have adequate load rating

Yep, what Art said.  Haha.

I have the QD and have put about 12k miles on it this past year.  The only real problem was the tires!  It had been sitting for a few years when I bought it and it took 2 days sitting in the tire shop parking lot before I could drive it home.  I keep a good eye on them now and haven't had a problem since.

The other thing about the Rialta is the transmission.  I got a cooler put on mine, I drive a lot of passes with big elevation climbs.  The cooler has helped immensely.  A VW transmission would cost a fortune to have done so I want to keep it cool...

Got it...thanks. I think he was "mistaken" about "off road." They just look like heavy tread to me. He may have said that because I said I wanted to" go where no man has gone before," (or woman.)

I'm writing this down you know. I suppose the dealer could put a cooler on it, (for a price) They are really pushing me toward a Chinook, 10,000 more bucks but less miles with a solar system already installed. Looked at an Isata today ..they sold it while I was standing there! I think a lot of people are heading toward this lifestyle. My head's going to explode
