Well my ol' girl Coco is having a hard time jumpin' up on the bed and I elected to build a set of stairs for her. Also wanted to relocate my toilet and just happened to have some pneumatic hatchback lifts (used them to raise the roof on my now long gone pop-up camper) lying about. My back is kinda hooped, so lifting stuff is kinda contraindicated, so one 50 lb lift took care of that. some hinges on the top and a spring steel (from pallet strapping) catch rounded out the deal. Unfortunately, I used up my supply of heavy duty drawer glides installing my pull out platforms for my Waeco and Engel coolers, so have to move the porta-pot without a platform for now.. but it's coming soon! That'll be the new 'n improved V2.

What REALLY sux, now that I've got this all built, is that I was having to lift 'n carry Coco onto the bed till everything was built.. and now she refuses to use the stairs, having gotten used to have her own personal beast of burden.. and one with a wrecked back at that. Ohhh.. the inhumanity! ..Willy. DSCF6040.JPGDSCF6041.JPGDSCF6042.JPGDSCF6043.JPGDSCF6044.JPG

I like how you think. Beautiful design and creative re-use of parts!

That is awesome! Bet she'd do the stairs if each one had an amazing treat on it. LOL

It would sure be a treat for my back! ..Willy.

Sh¥t is on for sure now my friend...those look like the pit could handle them!!

Great job Willy!!

well Willy she may not be use them but think on the bright side, soon you may need them and they are already built, I like the toilet paper location, nice touch, do you pull that thing out to use it or did you calculate the ark, projectile distance just right, triangulated the bend in your back on relaxed squat. good engineering.

I gotta pull it out, about 1', but that's what I'll be using the drawer slides for (when I get 'em). If check out near the catch beneath the large cooler, you'll see the wheels below helping to support the weight when extended.. gonna do the same with the toilet and it too will have a catch. ..Willy. DSCF6045.JPGDSCF6047.JPGDSCF6048.JPGDSCF6049.JPG
