I contemplate the nomad life since I was a teenager, I guess... After moving from Europe to US, I found so many people w/ the same desire to travel and move around, that made me realize I'm not mad.  :D
I can't "afford" to live the dream of being nomadic, because I have a family and they don't share my passion for traveling. But I would try to travel by myself for shorter or longer trips.
I feel in love with vans and their mobility and capability to park almost everywhere. We visited Grand Canyon area this summer and I've seen a lot of class B RVs. I liked Roadtreks but they are too expensive for what I need. So I'm currently dreaming of a conversion van or small camper van.

Welcome to the forum. Short trips are certainly better than no trips. And just think of all the good practice you can get in.

Welcome to the CRVL forums, Lalyly! we're more than happyto encourage your dreams. You might find your family catches the bug as you move forward. I have two sisters that now dream of a mobile life

Welcome aboard Lalyly!
How do you pronounce that?

Thank you! I like the aliveness of this forum, it's great.
Cyndi, we had so many discussions and so many trips. They like the trips, but not as a lifestyle, even if we had great times exploring different cities (in Europe and US), castles, forests, rivers, mountains, you name it... They believe in a classical society as a must (school, neighborhood, house, ... routine and "safety").
Popeye, I pronounce it: La (as in La-la-land) & Lili (as in lily of the valley) :)

Thank you Lalyly of Lavalley !
I think even I can remember that....

Welcome to the CRVL Forum   :)

You don't have to be a full timer living in a Van.  If you can just get a used Cargo Van and clean it up and plywood the floor, lay carpet on it,  set up some bedding,  and build a small kitchenette,  then you can have a week end escape camper to take to the nearest Park, Lake, or Recreation Area.

It may only be taking it to a municipal event where there are fireworks to watch.  But it can be a  low cost RV
for the time being.

If you want to see how I did mine check out my sites below.

All the best !
