My friend and I attended a meeting about MediCare Advantage at Cabela's and saw an interesting combination camping stove and oven Stove & Oven  that looked like it might work in a van or bus.  I have not seen this combination in a video before.  Has anyone tried something like this in a van, RV, bus, etc?

I have one of those as do many others. I love it but if I were to say it has been trouble free I would be lying. highdesertranger

From that page, in the Q and A section, I found this:

Q: can this stove be used indoors or on a sailboat

A: Manufacturers wall/ceiling clearance recommendations are as
follows. 1 foot on sides and 4 feet on the ceiling.

A: Instructions state outdoor use only but I have it in my cabin. Keep proper ventilation and clearances and there will be no problem. It is an open flame gas burning unit so CO will be produced and could be a problem with no fresh air in a closed room or cabin, but that is the same issue for any type of stove. Manufacturers also have to err on the side of excess caution because some folks don't put brains in gear when operating products.

For me, I'd probably not use it inside a van. I don't have a van yet but will own one soon. I'm not sure how I want to handle cooking. It is likely I'll just not cook at all. I don't want to have to carry propane in my van. I could see using this on a table outside the van but that would also mean I'd have to carry propane in the van. So... there are other things to eat besides cooked food.

I have the Camp Chef Oven with one burner and a grill on top. It weighs 38 pounds so remember that if considering hauling it between the van and a picknic table. Would not use it inside unless clearance set up and plenty of air exchange. We will use ours inside our trailer but kind of built around it so we could and we will also (and usually) use it outside. I put it on a rolling cart and we have a cargo trailer with a ramp so it's easy in and out for us. We will have a 2-burner portable we'll use inside usually but if it's cold enough to cook inside we are well vented near the stove.

I am using a sailboat stove/oven combo in mine and I love it! I can finally bake something and after I'm done with dinner the stove keeps the van warm for a while.

The real health problem in ventilation. be sure to have a RV rated carbon dioxide detector.

I had one of those that I got at Costco. It was too heavy for me to shlep around. Gave it to my son for him to use in power outages since his apartment is electric only. It didn't like using the oven and stovetop at the same time too well. As long as what you're baking doesn't require strict temperature regulation, the oven is fine. Wind messed up the oven big time, it would just run and run, using more propane than I would have liked.

yeah there is no temperature control on the oven. the person using it is the temp control. it takes a little getting used to but after a few uses it's pretty basic.

I found it handles wind 10,000 times better then the folding Coleman ovens that have zero insulation. in fact I found the Coleman's totally useless in any type of breeze were as the Camp Chef can actually handle wind to a certain point. highdesertranger

Is yours the Camp Chef or another brand we might like to look at?
